Adora's POV

I place my hand on Asami's shoulder. "Can I talk to Korra? Alone?"

"Uh..." They share a look before nodding at each other and Asami gets up, leaves and closes the door behind her.

I take a seat where she was sitting and Korra sits up against the headboard of the bed. I take a deep breath and try to focus on my thoughts before speaking. Yeah, I'm the one who just asked to talk to her, but I don't know what words to choose to convey my feelings.

"Look...I'm sorry about Catra." Korra gets the conversation started for me. "I never meant to hurt her."

"The area you guys were at looked pretty awful. So did the both of you."

"Which is why we need this device. Supreme doesn't just take over Catra's mind. She takes over her very being and can use her powers, even in Catra's body. If only you saw what she can do. You wouldn't feel like you had a choice either. I fought to stay alive."

"Korra, stop."

"But-"

"I'm not saying you shouldn't have fought back to keep yourself alive, just listen to me!"

She finally stops talking, but huffs and crosses her arms. I think the only thing stronger than her powers is her stubbornness. Jeez.

"It's not just Catra. If this device works, Supreme will have to find another body to control. She has a long list of all of our friends to choose from. We already had to have this struggle with Prime, I just don't want to relive facing off against our friends again. I wanted to talk to you to tell you that you should let me finish Supreme."

"What? Ador-"

"No Korra! Yeah, I healed Catra but you didn't see the state she was in. The heat from your flames was so strong that her skin was still continuously burning away even though there wasn't a single flame on her. And all she could care about was getting you healed!"

She furrows her eyebrows and looks at me silently. I grit my teeth and look away while I try to compose myself. I raised my voice a little at the end and I didn't mean to. Seeing her in Catra's lap with Catra so desperately trying to save her reminded me of when I almost died in her arms. It hurt that she felt the same type of anguish for Korra that she did for me.

I've been trying to act like what Angella said about the four of us didn't bother me. Catra is not much of a people person and she spends most of her time with me, so I wasn't concerned that her feelings would drift away to someone she hardly interacts with. I even told her that I see it as her still loving me, but Korra isn't me. I never expected the draw our spirits have on them to be this ridiculous. We need to figure out this whole mess fast before Catra falls in love with her and Asami falls in love with me.

"Look, I don't know what kind of beings they are, but they're not human or humanoid. When I defeated Prime, his...soul...spirit? I don't know what it was, but it left Hordak's body and exploded from my light. I'm guessing Supreme is the same because she can also transfer from body to body. Point is, I defeated him without hurting Hordak. I can do the same with Supreme and whoever she has control of. Stop trying to do this on your own and let me help."
