I'm hoping to be published one day. One story I'm working on is called The Hamling List. Here's a small excerpt.
Lina sat across from the man who called himself her father, her eyes flicking across the well worn pages of her mother's diary.
"Why Lina?" His voice broke the silence that had almost felt comfortable.
"What?"
"Why Lina? Why not Caroline?" Lina looked up at him, her eyes pricked with a strange light.
"Because it's different." Her father gave a sharp intake of breath, pain flashing across his face.
"Your mother said that to me."
"About what?" Lina asked, completely caught on his speech.
"Her name. Why not Rachel? Why Chel? She gave me the same answer."
"When?" The question hung, suspended for her lips for almost to long.
"When we first met."
