It's been awhile since I’ve updated but here it is.....I promise it won’t suck <3

After breakfast, Jason and I decided that we wanted to hang out with Ricky and Kayla...so we met them at the trail.

"Why are you two so smiley?" Kayla asked Jason as we walked along the path. He only grinned and laced his fingers in with mine as a response. "Oh my god!" Kayla squealed happily, "When did this happen? Why didn't you tell me?!"

"He asked me to prom last night..." I trailed off, blushing crazily.

"Isn't it kinda weird?" Ricky asked suddenly, "You guys have known each other since birth...you're practically siblings!" Jason shrugged and wrapped a protective arm around my waist as we approached the lake.

"It's better because we don't have to ask stupid questions like 'What's you favorite pastime?'....since we already know everything there is to know about each other."

"What's Ree's favorite color?" Kayla fired at Jason.

"Neon orange."

"Favorite band?" Ricky chimed.

"The Fray and Coldplay....she can't decide." he said cooly.

"Hotdogs or hamburgers?" Kayla asked smirking.

"TRICK QUESTION!" Jason roared, "Ree doesn't like meat." I high-fived him for remembering so easily, and Kayla just stared at us utterly impressed.

"I guess that's enough proof for ya." I laughed and we continued to walk. Topics of conversation bounced from prom colors to sports even to theories on how to possibly cure cancer. I reminded myself of how lucky I was to have them all as my best friends....how I never wanted to lose them.

“I’ll be right back.” I told Jason, releasing his hand.

“Where are you-“

“Bathroom!” I interrupted while jogging away.  I really didn’t have to go, but I felt like I need to freshen up; make up and hiking didn’t really mix well on a humid day.  The trail site was old and as you can imagine, the bathrooms weren’t the nicest either.  I swear the mirrors hadn’t been cleaned for years, I was lucky to be able to see myself in them.  After I re-applied lip gloss, mascara and eyeliner, I pulled out my phone and snapped a quick selfie. “Bathroom fun! xx” I texted Jason, with the picture attached. “This is why I love you. <3 Hurry back.” He responded within seconds.  I rolled my eyes at him impatience as I walked out into the fresh air.

“Hey cupcake.” a male voice said, making me turn around to where it came from.  But no one was there, only trees swaying in the breeze.  Confused, I turned forward but was face-to-face with Sam.  A shriek escaped my lips as I stumbled backwards away from him. “Quiet down.  We wouldn’t want Jason to hear us.” he said in a low voice.  I noticed that his eye was bruised and smirked.

“What happened to your eye? Fall on your fist?” I asked innocently.

“You know what happened to my goddamn eye,” he growled, “Your boyfriend’s punch is no joke though. I’ll give him that.”  I smiled, making a note to tell Jason that he did a good job.  My back suddenly made contact with something solid….a tree.  I hadn’t realized that I was even backing up.

“We can make this easy, Ree,” Sam started, “You can give me what I want and move on. Or you can make this hard and you’ll get hurt.”  his hands pinned my body against the tree while he pressed himself against me.  I kept quiet, debating over my options, when he kissed me roughly.  Using all the strength I had, I slapped him; my hand left a red mark on his cheek while a stinging sensation heated my palm.  “Why are you so fucking difficult!?” he yelled and the back of his hand collided with my cheek, making me scream.  I felt his hand wrap around my throat and tighten, cutting off my air.  “I’m so sick of you being a stubborn little bitch!” he spat as I gasped for air.  Then, the world around me slowly faded to black…
