I open my eyes and open the cabinet to see the apple come back in half a piece.

I didn't understand why was it not working?

it was fine yesterday why not today?

'It didn't work did it?'

I turn around facing Josie and Hope.

'No'

I sigh in frustration.

'I can search the books of dark magic that we brought back, surely we will find another spell that may work'

Josie suggests but I see Andrea shake her head in disagreement.

'no, this is a dark object that we have never used before, I doubt there is another spell to fix something as dark as this cabinet'

'should we give it a try?'

'yeah, Josie give me your hand'

They both walk up to the cabinet and Josie and Andrea link hands as they start muttering the same spell.

then suddenly everything starts to shake in the room of requirement. they both. let go of each other's hand and everything stops.

'what just happened?'

they look at each other and then turn to look at me.

'the power we have is rejecting us from doing a spell like this, your the one who needs to do the spell, not us, I'm sorry.'

Andrea says. Well just my luck.

'I have to go with Lizzie and get ready for Slughorns Christmas party. I'll see you two there'

with that she leaves, leaving Hope and I behind alone.

'are you going to the party?'

I turn facing her who seems lost in thought. she snaps out of it and looks at me.

'sorry what?'

'what's on your mind?'

she looks away, avoiding eye contact.

'nothing'

'I know your lying'

'just random little thoughts. nothing bad'

she says still not giving me eye contact. I know she's lying but I would rather not push it.

Seeing as she does have quite the temper.

I blame her werewolf side for that.

'I've got to go get ready for the Christmas party, I'll see you there'

'no I wasn't invited'

'well I wasn't asking. more like informing you that you are my date so I'll see you there'

and with that she leaves. leaving me to my thoughts.

I had gotten ready and so did everyone else and I was informing everyone about the curse missing. I was going to meet Draco by the entrance of the party.
