You awoke the next morning to the sunlight pouring through the window next to your bed. You'd forgotten to draw the curtains before you fell asleep the previous night. You guessed it was about 6:00. There was no chance that you would fall back asleep, so you decided to get dressed and go down to the common room to read before everyone else woke up. It took you a few tries to get your tie right, but once you did, it was perfect. You grabbed your book and slipped silently down to the common room.
To your surprise, Hermione was already there. Clearly, she had the same idea as you. She was sprawled out on her stomach on the red couch in front of the fire place. The fire had be put out the night before, but the room was still warm. You moved to sit on the chair next to the couch.
"Good morning." You said to her.
"Y/n! What are you doing up?"
"The sun woke me up. Why are you awake?"
"I always get up before every else. The mornings are peaceful."
She focused her attention back on her book, ending the conversation. You did the same.

After about an hour, students started coming down to go to breakfast. Ginny came down and sat to talk with you while you waited for the boys. The two of you chatted until you heard the thundering footsteps of Ron and Harry coming down from the boy's dormitory.
"It's a crime that we have to be up this early." Ron said groggily to the group.
"At Ilvermorny, classes didn't start until 10." You told them.
"I'd like to transfer there." Harry said.
The five of you walked down to the Great Hall for breakfast. The tables were jammed with waffles, cereal, fruits, toast, and eggs. Everyone helped themselves. There wasn't much conversation since everyone was so exhausted. Professor McGonagall come around to hand out schedules. After reviewing them yourselves, you all switched.
"Y/n, we're taking all of the same classes!" Hermione exclaimed.
    You flashed her a smile.
"Harry, we have everything except potions." You told him.
    "Brilliant." He said.
You noticed he nudged Ron, who turned beet red.
"I'm going to find Luna." Ginny said.
She got up from the table and didn't come back until the end of breakfast. Once she was back, the group of you went back to the common room to get your things for classes.

Classes proved to be fairly easy. Your first class was Care of Magical Creatures taught by Professor Hagrid. Harry, Ron, and Hermione seemed to be very friendly with him. Upon seeing you with them, he insisted you just called him Hagrid and said that you should feel free to come visit him in his hut whenever you feel like it. You thought it was a bit of a fierce gesture, but no one else found it weird, so you didn't dwell on it. Draco Malfoy was in your care of magical creatures class, too. He approached you when you arrived.
"You must be the new girl, then." He said to you.
"Yes, I am. And you must be the racist." You said to him, glaring.
Hermione had told you all about what he stood for the night before.
"You better watch what you say. The mudblood must really be rubbing off on you."
You rolled your eyes at him.
"That sass is going to come back to get you." He threatened.
Then, your view was covered by a tall mass. It was Ron.
    "Back off, Malfoy." He said.
"I'm not afraid of you, carrot top."
"Wha's goin' on over 'ere." Hagrid said, lumbering over to see the commotion.
"Nothing." Malfoy spat and walked away.
Hagrid went back to teaching and Ron turned towards you.
    "Are you okay?" He asked.
    "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks."
He nodded and turned back to Hagrid's lesson. You saw Harry whispering something to Hermione as you walked to stand next to her.
The rest of your classes went by quickly and had no other incidents. You were overly happy because it seemed that Ron finally wanted to talk to you. He wasn't awkwardly sitting in on conversations anymore. Lunch came and went and Hermione announced she was going to the library before class.
"For what? It's the first day." Ron said.
"I just want to check out the proper books for the next few classes." She said as she got up.
"Bloody hell..." He muttered, then turned to you. "She always does this, you know. She's always in the library.
"Well, she's definitely got her priorities straight." You told him. "What does she want to do after school?"
    "I've never asked."
"Do either of you know?" You asked Harry and Ginny, who were joking around with each other.
"What?' Harry said, taking the two green beans out of his mouth that he had shoved up his lips to look like a walrus.
"Do you know what Hermione wants to do after school?" You asked them.
    "Nope"
    "Not a clue."
"What do you guys want to do?"
"Ron and I want to be aurors." Harry told you, looking at Ron, who was beaming.
"I haven't really thought about it." Ginny confessed.
"It's ok, Ginny, I haven't either." You told her.
Ginny looked down at her watch. "We should get to class."
You all got up from the table. Ginny had to go to the astronomy tower, and you, Ron, and Harry had to go to the transfiguration classroom, so you went your separate ways. Hermione was already there when you got in the classroom. Harry rushed to sit next to her, leaving you and Ron to sit together. You couldn't help but smile to yourself and silently thank Harry as you took your seat.
"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen." McGonagall said and the class began.
This was by far your favorite class. Not only did you get to sit directly next to Ron, but you actually found it very interesting. Hermione was the only one able to figure out how vanish the contents of her cauldron by the end of class. You were somewhat close, but it turned out that all of the liquid ended up under the table, ruining your shoes.
Class had ended and you rushed back to the dorms, your feet squishing as you walked, to get new shoes. Hermione, of course, was off to the library, so you walked back with Ron and Harry.
"I'm bloody awful at transfiguration." Ron said, dopily.
"No you're not," You reassured him. "I thought you did great."
    "Really?" Ron perked up
"Sure! Both Harry and I didn't get ours to work either." Harry nodded in agreement as you said this.
"What's the password!" The Fat Lady cried.
"Abstinence" You all said at once.
Once in the common room, Harry and Ron sat on the couch. You went upstairs to change out of your school robes and to change your shoes. You chose a red and black striped shirt and paired it with some jeans. You fixed your hair so that it looked effortless, but you did end up putting in quite a bit of effort. Then, you gathered your school books and headed back to the common room to start homework.
Ron and Harry had already moved to a table by the time you bounded down the stairs. You walked over to them and sat in the chair that was clearly left for you by the way they had sprawled their books and parchment everywhere but there. The three of you zoned in on homework for about an hour or two before you saw Fred and George come down from the boy's dormitory. They huddled together in the corner of the room. You decided now would be a good time for a homework break.
"I'm gonna go for a little walk, my head hurts from all this homework." You told Harry and Ron as you stood up.
"Do you need to go to Madame Pomfrey? I can take you." Ron volunteered.
"No. Nothing a quick walk can fix."
You walked across the common room to where Fred and George were huddled, still mumbling quietly to each other.
"Hey boys." You said to them,
    They both looked up.
"Y/n." George said with a grin. "What can we do for you on this lovely day?"
"Sick of classes already, are you?" Fred said, reaching into his pocket. "Take these," he handed you a handful of hard candies. "They'll get you straight out of class."
"I'm all set, actually." You put the candies back into his palm, closed it, and pushed it back towards him. "I was just wondering what you two were plotting over here."
"Well, that's none of your beeswax now, is it?" said Fred.
"We shall never reveal our secrets!" George exclaimed, triumphantly.
"Oh, c'mon! I won't tell anyone." Then, a realization hit you. "Is it a prank?"
    George hesitated before he spoke.
    "No." He looked at Fred.
"Aha!" You told him and looked towards Fred. "It is a prank!"
"We're not going to confirm or deny. But you can't tell anyone we're planning a prank." Fred said in the most serious voice you'd ever heard him speak in.
"If anyone even suspects were planning a prank, we'll be caught no matter what."
"I won't tell a soul." You crossed your heart with your finger to show you meant it. "But I want in."
"What?" George looked at Fred, wildly surprised.
"Why?" Fred asked, bewildered. "What if we get caught?"
"We won't get caught" You said.
"With an amateur we will." George said.
"I'm not an amateur." You protested.
"Have you ever done a massive prank before?" Fred asked, flatly.
    You said nothing.
"Precisely; Amateur." George looked at you.
"I could probably pull a prank at your level." You told them.
This was obviously a lie, but you wanted to be a part of their prank so bad.
"Okay. If you can pull a prank that puts us at the top of the suspect list, you can help." Fred said, looking at George.
    "Really?" You asked, eagerly.
"Yes." The twins said in unison.
Giddily, you returned back to your seat at the table, plotting as you walked. You were unaware of the massive grin plastered upon your face.
"Well someone had a good walk." Harry said looking up at you.
"Yeah, what are you looking like a goof for?" Ron asked.
"Nothing. I just feel a lot better." You stifled your smile and continued the plot of your prank while you pretended to work.

Sorry this chapter took so long and was pretty short. I've been having a few hard days and my mental health is starting to deteriorate a bit. I love writing these, but I just haven't had the motivation. I started writing this because I use escapism to cope with a lot of the problems I have, and this plot line is a scenario I use. Not that many people read these, but I don't really care. It's just kind of cool to see what's in my head written out. If you do read these, I love you and I hope you enjoy them. It's kind of hard to paint the full picture of what I see because I'm not the best at writing, but I hope it's still fun to read. If you've read all the way to here, I love you. I think things will start picking up story-wise next chapter, so stay tuned!
