Highschool is one of the times where your youth peaked, some people say. College will be stressful as you are preparing to be an adult, therefore in highschool you should have all the fun you want. Felix agrees, highschool is when he wants to let loose, to try new things and feel all kinds of experiences. Changbin, being the same shy kid as he always is, would prefer to lay low and maintain his good grades throughout highschool.
1 month into highschool and there were already so much friend groups being formed. The one sitting on the top would probably be those popular, sporty guys, one that Felix is actually in. It was inevitable, of course, as Felix is also popular in his middle school, making his friends confused as to why he would hang out with Changbin, the shy kid.
Felix didn't get this reputation through nothing, though, he earned this through his hard work. He was the only 10th grader to ever make the soccer team, so currently, he's the youngest player. The news spread out quickly, and Felix was quick to grab the attention of girls and guys of his school. Now he hung out around a few of his seniors, mainly Chris and Minho, and a guy his age who was their manager's assistant named Jeongin. When he's in class though, he hung out with a few guys whose name he didn't bother to remember other than the charismatic Kim Junghee.
In short, Felix is a school wide sensation now.
Changbin, on the other hand, had made it into the odd -but not weird- group somehow. It consists of him, the heartthrob Hyunjin, the science nerd Seungmin, and the game-addicted Jisung.
Hyunjin and Seungmin were childhood friends, and they still stick by each other's side even when they're in different classes. Even though it may seem like Seungmin got tired of Hyunjin always bothering him, his actions said the opposite. Always giving him his lunch in a heartbeat once he knows Hyunjin didn't bring any money. Hyunjin, in return, is never afraid of showing Seungmin his affections, like feeding him when he's reading or holding his hands to warm them up when the four of them walked home from a cafe nearby. Changbin knows they're going to be together for a long time by the thread that connects them both. Just like me and Bokkie, he thought.
He knew Jisung because they're classmates, and he helped Jisung beat a dungeon boss on the game he's currently playing on his phone, leaving Jisung in awe. From there, their friendship develops based on their love of the same game and fantasy novels.
Changbin is forever grateful the four of them could become this close in a short period of time. The four of them became close due to what they call, The Great Vending Machine Incident, second week of school. Jisung wanted the last canned Americano, and so does Hyunjin.
"I'm sorry, dude, can I have the last can? I need it uh...for my friend. He's been working his ass off for chemistry and I want to treat him this." Hyunjin smiled, all was a lie.
"HA! Yeah right. Don't think just because you catch everyone's heart here means I'm giving this to you. Now back off, buzzo." Jisung fished out his coins.
Hyunjin, noticing that Jisung is still counting his changes, quickly inserted his money into the vending machine.
"You fucker!" Jisung spat.
"Early worm gets the bird!" Hyunjin exclaimed.
"It's the opposite, dumbass. YO IS THAT MR. TAESHIN!" Jisung pointed to a random direction to divert Hyunjin's attention. He quickly pressed the button for canned Americano and squats down to get it. Hyunjin, realising the situation, followed Jisung and try to grab the can first. They both got their hands on it at the same time.
"Let go, you asshat! I paid it with my money!"
"I saw it first, shitface!"
"They both look like cats fighting." A student walking by said to their friend.
