Felix was scrolling on his phone before he heard Sangha called his name. He turned his head to her direction and abruptly stood up, hoping to see Changbin walking behind her.
"Felix! You can go upstairs now." She told him as she stepped down the stairs.
"Thank you, Auntie." Felix bowed as he starts to make his way to Changbin's room.
"Oh, and," She puts her hand on his shoulder to stop him for a minute. "If there's any problem you both have, please sort it out, okay? Auntie doesn't like seeing you both sad." Sangha pats him on the head before going back to her own business.
He gave a curt nod and proceed to take small steps, as it is his first time meeting his childhood friend ever since the accident. With each steps he recalled each mean words he ever spat to Changbin.
In his defense, the amount of words he said weren't much. All he did was call him clingy and, indirectly, annoying. But the impact of those words were so heavy he could still picture a clear Changbin, teary-eyed looking at him. The last time Changbin looked at him like that was when Felix explained to his mom why he defended his only friend on the playground. And he promised to protect Changbin from the mean people out there.
Look how well he's kept it.
Felix stopped in front of Changbin's door. He was staring at it, thinking about what he should say before knocking on the door. He quickly decided to just say things from his heart and readied himself for a much needed conversation. He held his breath and knocked three times before he heard the door handle clicked.
Changbin stood there, his right hand holding the door handle. He looked up to Felix's expression, which was determined but also unreadable. He looked down before stepping back, letting Felix enter his room.
Felix sat down on Changbin's computer chair as he know he lost the privilege of lying on his bed. He bounced his leg for awhile, biting his lip in anxiety, not knwoing how to open a conversation. He opened and closed his mouth multiple times, eyes wandering to every direction.
Changbin saw this and immediately said, "Just say whatever's on your mind." He tightened his grip on his sweater. He chose not to look at Felix, but rather to look at what his window had to offer.
"I'm sorry."
"Of course you are."
"No, Binnie, I really am." He stood up, and start making his way to stand before Changbin. "I was so fucking scared of Junghee I didn't realise I was more scared of losing you. I didn't mean any of the things I said, believe me, please. I like that you're always making time to come to my practice. I like that you're affectionate. I like it when you cling to me because it gives me comfort. I am so, so sorry. I promised you once I'd always protect you, and I'm sorry I broke that. But now I'm ready to keep that promise again, no matter what happens to me. And... I think it's time I be honest with you."
Changbin cranked his neck up to look at Felix's genuine apologetic face. "What are you-"
"I'm gay." Felix blurted out.
Changbin opened his mouth is suprise, covering it with his hand. He never discussed sexuality with his childhood friend before and to hear him say it out of nowhere gave him a major whiplash. "Felix, I-"
"I've known for a long time. I... I didn't know how to tell you this. Only my parents and Chris knows. I-I'm sorry. I don't even know why I'm crying." Felix's voice cracked, feeling his tears started flowing down his cheeks.
