In the shadow, behind the seemingly ostentatious coffee maker, Lily half-whispered and half-shrieked in annoyance with Vicky as she couldn’t seem to get over with the sudden emotion taking over her.And for the life of her, she could not even pinpoint out what it was she was actually feeling. Jeez!
Glancing simultaneously across the room, her gaze zeroed in on that one particular man who just stepped inside her coffee shop. Seething, she could only shoot menacing glares towards him.
“He looked like a good man Lily,” Vicky supplied. She could hear both the confusion and amusement on her friend's voice at the clear antagonistic feeling Lily had for that one man they started gossiping about.
Folding her hands delicately across her chest, Lily snorted in disbelief and puffed out a breath before flipping her rich tresses behind her shoulder. “Like please,” she told her. If only you knew what kind of a jerk he was but Lily didn't voice that out as she just took some calming breaths instead.
They were in her café alright and it would be uncalled for to react with her raging emotions at the moment. Not to mention that it would scare off her costumers.
“What’s wrong with him?” Vicky finally asked out loud as she rubbed her temple too.Maybe it started throbbing just like hers as well. Lily barely deduced that maybe her tumultous emotions right now was either from her unpredictable PMS or just plain groggy from that diphenhydramine she took a while ago.
She glanced sideways and saw Vicky perused the guy in question from head to toe.
“He’s got that delicious hard body that you could wrap up in floss, oozing with charisma as strong as double shot espresso and you’ll have a heavenly banquet on a platter you’d be sighing for more,” Vicky then unceremoniously said with a giggle.
Lily's head snapped to her friend, almost getting a whiplash, her mouth ajar.
“Seriously Vicky are you on drugs?!” Lily’s out cried with eyes widening like a saucer hearing her friend’s very inapt laced with innuendo statement.
Lily threw her a disgusted look despite the fact that her friend’s statement made her finally aware of what that certain man was flaunting after all.
Her gaze unceremoniously travelled down the expanse of his firm body but immediately snapped out of her seemingly trance as her eyes landed on that particular part of him she would die of embarrassment to be caught staring at. She couldn’t help it she supposed, mentally soothing her now very messy mind. It’s just the way the jeans clung to his body, she added almost in an afterthought.
“Nope, but I could get drunk by just watching him,” Vicky responded with a mischievous grin, winking conspiratorially with Lily. “And I believe you’re the one on drugs.”
Lily choked on a coughing fit, her face reddening at Vicky’s very impish remark and her trying to get over the mortification and furiousness she had to herself for even appreciating the man, made her throat dried up. She suddenly felt exceedingly thirsty and a glass of cold water would suffice as much.
“Goodness Vic, you are really losing your mind. What would Sam think about you practically stripping down a man with your eyes?”
“Sam’s a good sports and besides, there’s no harm in appreciating a guy like him even if you’re in a relationship, what’s harmful is when you give in to the temptation and sample the goods,” was Vicky’s witty reply before stepping out of the silhouette where Lily pulled her into, proceeding to the back kitchen where she placed the long forgotten empty trays of cupcakes she planned on replenishing before.
