Felix POV

Felix dreaded seeing the Queen of Angels. Speaking with a devil was against the Angel Laws. And he was even friendly with that devil. He hung his head in shame. He was one of the purest angels, unable to not be friendly towards anyone... Even a devil.

Felix's best friend, Chan, continued to drag him to a private place so they could let out their wings. He turned into a dark alleyway and finally let go of Felix's hand, sighing.

"I can't lie to the Queen of Angels, Felix," Chan said sadly. "Not even for you." Felix wrapped his best friend into a comforting hug, attempting to keep his trembling at bay.

"I know," he said quietly, his voice quivering with fear. "I know."

Chan let go of Felix, playfully ruffling his hair. He cocked his head back, Felix doing the same, as their graceful, pure wings developed from their shoulders. Their strong wings pushed them off the ground, helping them lift up into the clouds. Heaven.

When the boys' feet gently hit the clouds of their home, Felix's fear heightened. Chan grasped his hand gently, squeezing it to comfort him.

"Come on," Chan told his friend quietly. Felix nodded, letting Chan guide him to the Queen of Angels' Court.

The Court building was often a welcoming place to Felix. It was where he found hope and strength, where he had received the wings and halo he cherished so much. The halls were as pure and white as the fresh fallen snow, with tall windows that reached the ceiling and held no glass to let in as much light as possible. The grand doors leading into the courtroom---large and wooden with golden hinges that never squeak---opened slowly, only adding to Felix's anxiety.

The Queen of Angels, so graceful and beautiful, sat on her throne, looking down at Felix and Chan with something less than kindness. She flicked her golden hair over her shoulder, her crystal diadem not moving a centimeter atop her head.

"Speak, my beloved children," the Queen said, her soft voice as gentle as a passing summer breeze.

"M-my queen," Chan began, his own voice quivering. He did not want to be the reason his dearest friend was punished. "Lee Felix was seen conversing with a devil." He purposely kept out the fact that Felix was kind to the devil. It was already bad enough for him.

The Queen's soft blue eyes grew darker as her anger noticeably grew. Her tenderly pale face turned red and she gripped the edges of her throne's armrests, knuckles whitening.

"Dearest Felix," she said quietly. "Come closer." Felix obeyed, trembling.

The Queen of Angels nodded at Chan, dismissing him. Chan left the throne room with one last glance of apologetic sorrow to his friend. After Chan left, the Queen struck Felix across the face. The small angel fell backwards, holding his cheek and keeping back tears.

"You are my favorite, little one," The Queen told Felix, lifting his chin gently. "I remember your wings ceremony so well. Your beaming smile, brighter than the sun. You were so happy when you received your halo and became an angel. Why must you betray my love so, dearest child?"

"I-I'm so s-sorry," Felix stammered, tears welled in his eyes. "I-I couldn't help i-it. H-he was so kind t-to me..." This rewarded him with another slap.

"Of course he was kind to you!" the Queen scolded, eyebrows narrowed. "He is a devil! Devils are kind in order to lure sweet, innocent souls down to Hell with them! Think, Felix! Have I not taught you everything to know about them!"

"I-I know, my Queen," Felix cried, letting his tears fall. "I-I'm so sorry!" The Queen retracted her hands away from him.

"You have broken my rules, Lee Felix," she said coldly. Felix wept, holding his face in his hands. "Therefore you must be disciplined. For speaking with a devil, you shall be punished in Hell for four days."

With a simple hand movement, the Queen took away Felix's treasured wings and his legs caved beneath him. He hollered out in pain. Physically, losing his wings only felt like a slight pinch. But, emotionally, it felt like his heart had been ripped from his chest. He loved his wings. He treasured them. But now they were gone and it would be a long time before he earned them back.

"Punishment commences now."

With another wave, Felix disappeared from the cloud city and reappeared into the fiery pits of Hell.
