"You and I can't be together, idiot!" Cheonsa yelled, crying frantically when Jungwon said those words.

Cheonsa cried, "You're not a human like me; you're a demon, a vampire, or whatever you are! What I know is that you're a monster who doesn't deserve to be loved; you're heartless!" Jungwon moved closer as he coldly eyed her.

Jungwon resisted the impulse to wipe her tears by keeping his hands in his pockets. He thought Cheonsa needed some space, but he wasn't really able to give it to her because he was obviously fighting the impulse to touch her.

"What the heck are you doing right now?! Step back, Yang Jungwon!" She yelled as if she was threatening him.

Jungwon felt a tremendous sensation cutting through his body as he took a step. He gasped as his veins began to darken gradually. Cheonsa took a step back while gritting her teeth.

"What the hell? Jungwon, stay away from me please..." Cheonsa whispered, audible enough for Jungwon to hear.

Jungwon looked down and noticed a small hole in his chest that grew larger whenever he was near his love one.

"Love, please, can you just come near me? I'm not going to hurt you..." Jungwon softly said. Another hole was pierced through his thigh, almost making him lose his balance.

"How could the figure of pride beg for someone to unite with him?" Cheonsa whispered into the air.

They were on the roof, away from the events below. Cheonsa looked down and noticed her batchmates gathered in the field to watch the fireworks display.

"The fireworks display will begin at any moment! Only 20 seconds remain!" Both of them stared at each other when they heard the speaker.

"Cheonsa..." Jungwon called out her name, which irritated her. She took a step back, only to realize she was already on the building's edge.

"Shit," Cheonsa cursed as she was about to fall from the building if she didn't pay attention.

"Cheonsa—"

"You bastard! Do you really love me that much to the point of sacrificing yourself for me?!"

9...

"You're Pride, Jungwon! You must look down on everyone, but here you are, begging me to come to you!"

8...

"If only I'm not a human, maybe I could help you, right? But for fuck's sake, I'm a human! "

7...

"I love you so much, but if loving you causes you pain, then I'd rather throw these feelings to the side!"

Jungwon stopped walking. He softly chuckled, tears forming in his eyes.

He smiled, making his tears fall down to his face.

"Then, I'll pick those feelings up and return them to you," he teased.

Cheonsa ran a hand through her hair out of extreme frustration.

"Yang Jungwon, this is no time for jokes! You're dying! You're literally about to perish! Can't you be serious for once?!"

"Joo Cheonsa, I'm always serious about you."

"It's not about that!"

Jungwon smirked and approached her until they were only one foot apart. His life expectancy is decreasing with each step he takes.

5...

"Yang...Jungwon," Cheonsa whispered when he was already in front of her.

Jungwon stretched out his hand to touch her hair. "Your hair's messy, but you still look beautiful. As expected from our Joo Cheonsa." He smiled.

4...

"Jungwon, if only you let me love you from afar, this won't happen. You couldn't have fallen for me. Jungwon, you couldn't have loved me."

Jungwon finally took out his other hand and wiped the tears which kept falling from her eyes.

"Cheonsa..."

"Thank you very much for receiving my love."

2...

"Thank you for granting my desire." Jungwon barely uttered those words before falling on Cheonsa's body.

"Jungwon?!"

"And, that is..." Jungwon coughed up black liquid as veins exploded from his body. The fireworks suddenly erupted, startling Cheonsa, which made her lose balance and fall down with Jungwon.

Jungwon held her tightly and nuzzled his face against her neck. He gently held the back of her head and her back. He used his strength to switch their positions so that he would be the one to make contact with the ground.

Jungwon looked at her tear-stained face. He wiped them away one last time and kissed her on the forehead.

"...for loving a human."

Hi, this is Nicci! As you can see, I decided to change the plot and the majority of the story. I read this book for a month and discovered numerous plot holes! One of the reasons I changed the plot was because I was influenced by the manhwa I read. It sounded interesting, and I figured I'd give it a shot. I know this comes as a surprise given that I had been on hiatus for five or six months, but I hope you will still support me and the story. I will do my best to provide a good chapter.
