She could hear it. All the screams, cries, and wood falling to the ground, crashing, as her house was encased with dancing fire. She was forcefully taken by the hand of a man and pulled from the wreckage. She could hear everything, see everything, but somehow, she wasn't sad at all. She kept looking back, not knowing that this was reality. She thought it was all a nightmare.

After a couple of years, she was adopted into a "kind" and "loving" family. She and her brother were the only survivors of the fire. Everything else was gone. Her brother, Chris, was adopted together. This new "family" of theirs (If one could call it a family) was horrible. the "nice" dad, actually turned out to be a smoker, drinker, and also a bad-tempered man. He took his anger out on her. He threw his beer bottles, his still-lit cigars, anything that could potentially harm her. Slaps, punches, beatings, scars, she was all used to now.

Her "mom" was no different. Her brother was thought better than her. She was and always would be, less than him. Of course, her brother still loved her very much and was the only one who did.
