Heppenheim in Germany is a small town. With a population of only 25,000, it is not very well known. Various castles and estates are dotted around, but at the edge of the town is a grand building that looks like it should be home to some sort of noble family. It isn't, in fact, it is used as a secondary school. Every week day teenagers pour in and out of its gates. It has enough classrooms to hold over 2000 pupils yet it only has roughly, 1000. It may not seem like an iconic building, but this is the start of truly fascinating story.

Rebekah eyed the huge building that towered above her wearily. This was the first time she'd back to school since she'd been back in Germany; and she was terrified.

"Come on Rebekah." Susie, her care worker, called as she headed inside. Rebekah gulped nervously before following after her.

The corridor that led to reception was brightly lit with pictures of past head teachers plastered all over the walls. Awards the school had won were scattered around, as though bragging to everyone. Rebekah couldn't help but snigger at the cheesy welcome picture with the current head teacher and overly enthusiastic students that was stuck on the reception door.

As Susie entered reception, the first thing Rebekah noticed was three boys lined up outside, what looked like, the head teacher's office. Their heads were hung low and one of them looked like he was about to cry.

"Hello, I'm here to enroll Rebekah." Rebekah heard Susie's voice. She looked up to see her care worker all ready at the desk.

"Ah yes, Rebekah Heidem is it?" The receptionist inquired.

"Yes." Susie nodded. "Rebekah come over here." Susie waved her over. Reluctantly, Rebekah trudged over to the desk, wishing she was anywhere but here.

"Hello, Rebekah." The receptionist greeted when Rebekah appeared next to Susie.

"Hi." She muttered.

"I'm Miss Schutter and I'm the receptionist here, if you ever need anything I'm always here. Miss Stannem the head teacher is busy at the moment but she will introduce herself to you sometime today." Rebekah nodded along listening to the speech that the woman had no doubt prepared as soon as she knew she was coming. "This is your timetable, and here is a map of the school to help you get around, but I'm sure someone will help you if you get lost. Maths is your first lesson and to get there you go up the stairs, take the first right and follow the corridor down until you reach the room written on your timetable. Right, that's everything, will you be alright getting to your first lesson or would you like me to show you?" Rebekah hadn't been paying attention and desperately wanted to be shown the way, but the pleading look Miss Schutter was giving her convinced her otherwise.

"I should be fine thank you." She said, speaking for the first time.

"Great, well if you head off now you will need to give this to your teacher." Miss Schutter smiled handing Rebekah a slip of paper before carrying on with her workload.

"Right, I better leave you then," Susie said, " Behave!" She told Rebekah sternly. With one quick hug she turned on her heel and walked back the way the two of them had entered.

Rebekah desperately wanted to follow her and go back to the orphanage but she knew she had to stay; there was no backing down now. Taking a deep breaths she made her way up the stairs. Her bag on her back suddenly felt like a bag of bricks weighing her down, preventing her from walking. She took the first right she came to and looked on her timetable to see which room she was in. Room 57. She stopped outside the door, her heart beating furiously with nerves. She took a deep breath before opening the door.
