break had just started and the students have an hour for any study hall time they would like, but most kids would consider this a free period. they treated the time like lunch and hung out with their friends. now minghao doesn't have many friends he likes hanging out with besides vernon...if you're wondering about if they've spoken yet, they haven't.

minghao wanted to sort out his feelings for vernon a few days ago and he thinks he knows what he wants now but he just needs to talk to vernon but that's where he starts to hold himself back. he feels scared because vernon confessed and minghao ghosted him.

the giant reason why minghao was troubled with returning his feelings to vernon was because of his relationship with wonwoo. minghao and wonwoo were together for a little over a year and wonwoo has been caught cheating in the past but minghao let it slide but when minghao caught him the second time, he knew he shouldn't put himself through a relationship that isn't mutual. now how does that relate with vernon? well it doesn't, minghao just lost trust in dating and he doesn't know if it will happen again or not. it isn't vernons fault that minghao is like this but he is still stuck in the situation. minghao thought wonwoo would never hurt him and he did. minghao believes vernon doesn't have ill intentions for their future but that's something minghao can't predict.

minghao needed someone to help him with this and the only person that came to mind was jeonghan.

"hyung, i need your help please..." minghao had found jeonghan and a few of his friends hanging out by there lockers. jeonghan was a senior that was known by everyone and minghao was a junior known by no one. everyone that noticed minghao was talking to jeonghan was staring him down because he was close with the yoon jeonghan.

"hey i'll see you guys later." jeonghan waved to his friends and wrapped his arm on minghaos shoulder loosely. "what's wrong minghao?" the two went to campus field where everyone was allowed to hang out and it was the least crowded area so it was a perfect place for them to talk.

"it's about vernon." jeonghan looked at minghao quickly. jeonghan was always protective over his dongsaengs. "during the countdown, he confessed to me and i completely ghosted him...i didn't want to but i didn't have an answer for him at the time."

"so why did you need my help?"

"i need your advice, you're my only hyung that i thought could help." jeonghan nodded with a shameless smile that he was minghaos helpful hyung. "i told you how wonwoo and i dated right?" jeonghan hummed a yes. "well wonwoo cheated on me, twice."

"what?!" jeonghan was very taken aback since wonwoo never told him about that, wonwoo only said that he and his boyfriend broke up and that was the end of conversation.

"yes, it's shocking since it's wonwoo but anyways...after he cheated on me, i had a hard time dating after that. now vernon on the other hand is different from a blind date or something. hyung, i like him so much but what if he does the same as wonwoo...i don't want to be heart broken again."

"look minghao, i cant say that vernon won't hurt you possibly because we cant predict that but i know that he is genuinely a good guy and he must like you a lot because this is the first time he's confessed to anyone. whenever someone likes him, he doesn't even give them a chance. also i understand you might be scared but you can't hold yourself back from everything in this world, just go all in and have fun, you never know if it will be the best moment of your life." jeonghans advice stuck in minghaos head.

"thank you hyung, you helped me so much." minghao gave a quick hug to jeonghan.

"you should talk to vernon soon because he's been acting different the past few days and i think he really needs you right now." minghao nodded understandingly and left from the field.

minghao pulled his phone from his pocket and messaged vernon.

mh: hi vernon
mh: can we meet up after school at the park bridge?

there wasn't any answer for a few minutes which made minghao feel a little anxious but then he heard his phone go off.

vn: i'll see you at 5 then?

mh: yes, thank you.

minghao put the phone in his pocket with a dumb smile on his face. he just wanted to tell vernon how he felt but he had to go to class and he wouldn't see vernon in the halls anyways because of their different schedules.
