Chapter 3: A Unwanted Memory

Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid. What were you thinking? O wait, you didn't think because if you did you would've never hugged her. Of course you had to make it worse by kissing her on the forehead, then you gave her a look of regret or a I didn't mean to do that just to add the cherry on top. The look on her face and the tears that started to from in her eyes made me realize how bad I messed up. I basically just ripped her heart apart.

"Percy are you okay," Hazel asked.

"I'm fine," I replied, "I just, I made a mistake." I gave them a sheepish smile in hopes they wouldn't question it.

"Trust me, we saw," Frank blurted out.

Hazel shot a glare his way and punched him in the stomach. She put her hand on my shoulder, "Do you wanna talk about it?"

"Thank you, but as of right now I'd prefer if we just moved," I said in the nicest way possible.

If Apollo saw that, he would probably take back his title as my patron out of embarrassment.

We walked for a few more minutes still he hit a bus station.

"How bad was it?"

Hazel stopped and turned around, "She headed straight towards the barracks with her head down and her fist clenched."

Frank shrugged his shoulders, "I bet I could feel the heart break from a mile away, if I was a son of Venus." Hazel gave him another glare basically telling him to shut it.

I sighed and threw my head in my hands. "I'm such an idiot. Jason's going to kill me."

I spent the last year of my life forming two of the best friendships I've had in a while, and I might of just completely destroyed one.

"I should have enough money to get us all the way to Seattle by bus. After that it's either walking or finding away across the water." I bought us three one way tickets, then we loaded the bus.

About an hour in, I dozed off and fell sleep. I was staring out towards a beach. The sun was bright, there were palm trees, and it was completely peaceful. You could feel the ocean breeze and smell the salt. Then I noticed a girl sitting on a blanket. She had blonde hair and little princess curls throughout. She was wearing an orange camp half blood t-shirt and a picnic basket was out beside her. She turned to see me, then smiled. Annabeth, and there was a little girl with her.

She turned to see me behind them. "Percy, hurry up already," she laughed.

"Daddy, daddy, come build a sand castle with me," the little girl shouted.

My body started to move own it's own towards them.
"I'm coming honey," My dream self said. I started to move forward and the little girl ran towards me and jumped into my arms. She didn't look over the age of  six.

"Can we please go swimming?"

My dream self laughed, "Of course honey, we can go out in a few minutes." I sat down beside Annabeth and gave her a long and passionate kiss. I know it's not real, but it felt like it was. I wanted it to be real.

"Eww," the little girl laughed. "That's how you spread cooties."

Annabeth laughed, "You'll understand one day Zoe."

"I just wanna swim," Zoe laughed.

"I'll tell you what," I said. "If you can build be the greatest sand castle ever, we will swim as long as you want."
