Esmeralda lay out her uniform on the bed, and looked at it with an awkward gaze. How stupid it truly was, going to school when the whole bloody wizarding world was falling apart.
Malfoy was seated on the bed, running his fingers along the metal of the cuffs that were digging into his skin achingly. He seemed to be analysing their structure, the magic used to keep them in place with his intelligent gaze.
"Can you look away?" Esmeralda huffed at his obliviousness at the fact she wanted to get dressed. He reeked of being completely and utterly self-centred, with no regard for anyone else at any given moment. It was infuriating.
"I'm not going to look." He mumbled coldly as he continued his analysis of the cuffs.
Esmeralda sighed in annoyance, but stepped so she was mostly out of his line of sight and raised her top over her head. She fought the urge to look down at her body, avoiding it like the plague as she hastily pulled on a bra and her button-up school shirt.
She almost cried in relief when Malfoy had kept his word, his eyes not wandering from where he was fixated. The vulnerability that came with showing her naked body was something she was uncomfortable with at the best of times, let alone in the presence of Draco bloody Malfoy.
With a deep breath, she stepped out of her shorts, then quickly pulled on her black tights and skirt before sitting back down on her bed to buckle up her shoes.
"Can you get dressed? I want to go down for breakfast early so I can finish off my essay last minute." She spoke emotionlessly as she threaded the leather strap through the metal of her scuffed up shoes.
Malfoy looked up at her for the first time in a while through thick blonde lashes with a scowl. "Don't order me around."
"I don't want you to accompany me anymore than you want to come. But unfortunately I can't go anywhere without you being dragged along." Esmeralda returned his glare, raising their linked arms. She was dreading the idea that this arrangement wasn't going to come to an end any time soon.
"I'm not changing. I'll come like this." He stated coldly, standing up from his seated position and brushing his hands over his pants. He seemed to not have considered that this would sharply pull Esmeralda by the wrist, and she winced audibly.
"You have to wear a uniform." Esmeralda pointed out, rubbing her wrist in discomfort, "The elves have even brought you one." She added when she saw the pile of clothes with an emerald tie laying on top that was sitting on an empty bed beside the two they'd slept in.
He looked at the uniform with a blank face then back to Esmeralda.
"They've already kidnapped me and made me stay in this joke of a school, I'm not wearing their stupid fucking clothes anymore." Malfoy spat, and walked towards the door of the dormitory. He ran his hand through his blonde locks to tame them, rolled his toned shoulders backwards and leant his neck to either side before opening the door and pulling Esmeralda with him outside.
Some girls were already milling around the staircase, preparing for the day of classes. A couple had to do a double take at the sight of Draco Malfoy walking through the Gryffindor girls dormitories. But after a deathly glare from him they quickly looked away and went back to minding their own business. Esmeralda supposed this was one asset to having Draco Malfoy the one handcuffed to her, his intimidation of other students could prove advantageous.
He mumbled a string of curses under his breath that Esmeralda couldn't, and didn't desire to work out.
Malfoy didn't speak a word to her as they walked to the Great Hall, which relieved Esmeralda. She didn't want to converse with him any more than she had to, and considering the lack of interests they had in common, there would really be nothing to converse about anyway.
