Catelyn Stark had never felt the urge to scream this bad, for she knew it was so unladylike. She had thought, that the second time would hurt less, but realized she would have to endure this pain everytime she gives birth to little Lords and Ladies. She also knew, that at the end, it'd be worth it. When she'd get to hold her and her Lord husband's baby close to her chest, and feed her.
She remembered the day, the Maester had told her she was carrying a girl child. She told her husband and son, both of whom were ecstatic by the thought of a daughter and sister, respectively. Even at the mere age of two, Robb was excited to have a sister, to play and run or crawl around with, gave a grin.

She was wondering if the God's are punishing her, through the course of giving birth. But was quick to discard the thought, as she hold the baby, wrapped in a soft bundle.

"You've a healthy and strong girl right there my Lady" said Maester Luwin

"Thank you Maester.."

That was when Ned entered.
"How are they?"
Maester Luwin bowed and congratulated the Father. "You've a girl, my Lord. Lady Stark is tired and exhausted. The birth was hard and the baby took her time. Nothing new as the first birth was, but hopefully the rest of her births in the future would be less painful.

"I wish to see them, maester, if that is.."
"It's of no bother my Lord, they both are safe, and both the ladies would be delighted"
"Thank you Maester Luwin"
"It is my duty and honor, my Lord, no need to thank me, I'd be taking my leave now."
He bowed again, and left. Septa Mordane and the wet nurses bowed and followed out as well.
Ned approached and found Catelyn holding their baby.. their baby, their first born girl.. he was so busy in his thoughts, he didn't notice untill
"Lord Stark?" Catelyn's voice interrupted his train of thoughts.
"May I?" Catelyn handed the baby to her husband.

"She's beautiful"

"She looks like a Stark. She's perfect. But I guess she might have your curls, aye? What do you think my lady?"
Catelyn nodded, smiling. Even though she knew that her Lord Husband wasn't like the other Lords, who preferred sons over daughters, He was more honourable and understanding. Her heart swelled for the sight in front of her. Seeing him holding their babe, welcoming her with so much warmth, love and care, she found herself falling in love more and looking up to him with more respect then before, like it was possible for her to do so.

"She might, my Lord" she found herself entranced by the love she held, not only for her Husband, but also for their new born as well. She really was perfect. A true Stark by the looks of it. Even her eyes were grey, just like that of Ned's.
She always thought that grey was a bit of dull shade, untill then, when she saw the new born open her eyes. As if she could sense the presence of both of them, and their utmost attention on her, she gave a toothless but tired smile. Even though it wasn't much, but enough to feel the warmth in the land of winter. She's a summer child, they thought, but a northern nonetheless. As beautiful as the winter rose. "Elyarra. Elyarra, my Lord, if it is.."
"It's a beautiful name. A beautiful name for a beautiful baby"
"To honour your lady mother, dear. Maester said she's strong. She's a Stark. She needed a strong name as well"

"Lady Elyarra, of House Stark, of Winterfell, First Of Her Name, First Born Daughter, Of Lord Eddard Stark and Lady Catelyn Stark", asserted
Lord Stark.

That day, Eddard Stark, with a kiss on his Elyarra's forehead, swore to himself, to protect his winter rose. He'd protect her, from everything, even Death.
For he believed, that the Old God's, had given him another chance. And he'd not fail again.
