The train whistled as Shigaraki walked back for Deku.
"Kid get your head out of the clouds, wake up kid there's no sleeping on the polar express, we got to jump before we hit the tunnel", said Shigaraki.
"Hop on to my shoulders kid come on".
Deku grabbed Shigaraki's hand and brought him up to his shoulders.
"We got to reach the hog".
"The hog", asked Deku.
"I'm talking about the engine I call the hog, we gotta get there before we hit Flat Top Tunnel", answered Shigaraki.
"How come", asked Deku.
"So many questions, there is but one inch of clearance between the roof of this rattler and the roof of Flat Top Tunnel, savvy", answered Shigaraki.
The train started moving up a hill.
"It's, just a run up a hump kid, this will be interesting".
Shigaraki crossed his ski shoes and slid to the back of the train where some snow broke off.
Shigaraki stopped himself by hooking his hiking pole with a rail on the top of the train causing Deku to fall off and hanged on to the back light of the train.
"Get back on kid hurry, here grab on to this".
Deku grabbed on the hiking stick and Shigaraki pulled Deku in front of him on top of the ski shoes.
As the train went down hill they both slid down and jumped from cart to cart.
When the train was about to go into Flat Top Tunnel Shigaraki prepared Deku to jump as they were approaching the engine.
"There's only one trick to this kid, when I say jump... YOU JUMP"!
Shigaraki jumped and disappeared like a ghost as Deku jumped into a pile of coal and slid down in the engine.
Deku found Uraraka running the train.
"You, I thought you got thrown off and... your driving the train", asked Deku surprised.
"They put me in charge, the engineer had to change the light", answered Uraraka.
The engineer who was Kaminari, a blonde hair man in black and white clothing, and his assistant who was Kirishima, a red dyed hair man wearing open chest black clothing and a mouth guard on his face, were trying to put a new light bulb at the front of the train.
"Well how do you know how", asked Deku.
"It's easy here I'll show you", answered Uraraka.
"This big lever here, that's the throttle, that little one there is the break, and those are the pressure gages, and that rope is the whistle", said Uraraka pointing to the train gadgets.
"The whistle, can I try it", asked Deku.
"Sure", answered Uraraka.
Deku pulled the rope and blew the train whistle.
"I wanted to do that my whole life", said Deku happily.
He blew it again as Kirishima was screaming in pain as his hair was being pulled on by Kaminari holding on.
"Hold still I got it", said Kaminari.
The Kaminari putted in the light bulb and it lit up.
He looked out and saw something.
Kirishima shot up and caught his head in the bell.
The engineer looked out even further.
"STOP THE TRAIN, STOP THE TRAIN, STOP THE TRAIN, STOP THE TRAIN"!
"WHAT", yelled Deku.
"He want us to stop the train", said Uraraka.
Deku ran to the lever.
"Which on is the break", asked Deku.
"This one here", answered Uraraka pointing to the white smaller sideways lever.
"What about this red one it looks like the break", asked Deku pointing to the big red lever.
"No he said this one was the break", answered Uraraka pointing to the smaller sideways lever again.
"Are you sure", asked Deku.
Uraraka looked at Deku.
"Are you sure"!
Uraraka sat down with her hands covering her face.
Deku put his hands on the big red lever.
"STOP.. THE.. TRAIN", yelled Kaminari.
Deku was about to pull the red lever but decided to pull the small sideways lever instead and the train forcefully slows down and stopped until Kaminari was right in front of a caribou.
"Caribou"?
The caribou breathed in Kaminari's face.
"THERE COULD BE NO CHRISTMAS WITHOUT THE POLAR EXPRESS ARRIVING ON TIME, IM I THE ONLY ONE WHO UNDERSTANDS THAT", yelled Iida walking into the engine.
Uraraka was looking out the window.
"You, I should've known are you bound to determine that this train never reaches the north pole".
"But look", said Uraraka.
Iida looked out the window.
"Caribou crossing", yelled Iida.
"I'm sure there are a thousand, maybe even a million, it's going be hours before they clear the tracks", said Kaminari.
Iida, Deku and Uraraka walked up to the very front seeing a bunch of Caribous.
"A tough nut to crack", said Kirishima.
"We are in some serious jelly", said Iida.
"And jam", said Kaminari.
"Tight spot", said Kirishima.
"Up a creek", said Kaminari.
"Up a tree", said Kirishima.
"In the grass", said Kaminari.
"I'll tell you what's grass", said Kirishima.
Deku slipped and grabbed on to Kirishima's leg pulling on it causing Kirishima to scream in pain.
The Caribous whined kinda like horses to Kirishima's scream.
Iida pulled on Kirishima's leg and he screams in pain again and the Caribous whined again stepping backwards.
Iida pulled again making Kirishima scream in pain again and the Caribous whined and cleared the tracks for them to get through.
"Problem solved, all ahead slow", said Iida with his arm out in front of him.
Kaminari blew the train whistle as Kirishima shoved coal into the engine fuel.
Kaminari pushed the throttle lever and the train slowly moved forward.
As they passed the Caribous the train started moving to fast as Kaminari had trouble with the throttle lever by pushing it back and forth not noticing that the pin is lose on the lever.
The train continued to accelerate even faster.
We're going pretty fast", said Deku worried.
"Tell Kaminari to slow down", said Iida.
"SLOW DOWN", yelled Uraraka.
Kaminari continue to pull on the throttle lever until the pin fell out and the lever completely came off.
"Aw jumping electric eels, the cotter pin seared off", said Kaminari.
The pin bounced everywhere.
"What", asked Kirishima.
"The pin", answered Kaminari.
"Where", asked Kirishima.
"There", answered Kaminari pounding the floor vent causing the pin to sink in there.
"Oh no", said them both.
"They can't hear me", said Uraraka.
The train started heading up a very steep hill.
"They can't, that can't be good, quick under the safety bar", said Iida.
Iida tied a blue elastic band on both ends of the bars behind Deku, Uraraka and himself.
"Is everything going to be okay, what should we do", asked Deku panicking.
"Well considering the fact that we have lost communications with Kaminari, we are standing totally exposed on the front of the locomotive, the train appears to be accelerating uncontrollably, and we are rapidly approaching Glacier Gulch, which happens to be the steepest downhill grade in the world, I suggest, we all hold on... TIGHTLY", answered Iida.
The train goes down hill super fast and everyone screamed in horror hanging on for dear life.
Then the train goes up again then down another steep his very fast.
Kirishima and Kaminari were floating in the air and the pin floated up out of the vent.
"The pin", said them both.
They both tried to grab it and Kaminari finally grabbed it with his mouth.
The train went straight forward and they both came to the ground as Kirishima landed on Kaminari causing the pin to shot up in the air.
Then the train went down fast again and Kaminari accidentally swallowed the pin.
The train kept on going fast.
"Great Christmas the ice has frozen over the tracks", yelled Iida.
The train reaches the ice and it slid with the carts getting out of a straight line and it was turning around as it slid.
Kirishima wacked Kaminari in the back knocking the pin out of him and out into the ice causing it to crack.
The front of the train hitted a rock causing it to tilt.
Uraraka was slipping off but Iida grabbed on to her before she fell off then Deku grabbed on to Iida trying to pull Iida and Uraraka on the train.
They continued slipping until Shigaraki grabbed on to Deku's robe helping them back on the train.
Deku looked up at Shigaraki.
He gave Deku a thumbs up as he pulled everyone back on the train.
Shigaraki pointed to Deku then he disappeared like a ghost again.
Kirishima pulled out a hair pin from behind his ear and Kaminari used it to connect the throttle lever back on the controls and pulled on it and the train slowed down with ice under it.
The front of the train rocked itself until it finally steadied down.
"Well, that is more like it", said Iida releaved.
