I looked outside my bedroom window, admiring the gorgeous sunset. It was not only red and orange, but purple and pink too. However, as soon as the sun sets I get too cold and close my window. When I turn around there is my older sister, Maddie. "Hey Mads" I said cheerfully. "Hello" Maddie mumbled clearly not interested. "Mom wanted me to tell you dinner is ready" she exclaimed and walked downstairs. Maddie had been acting very fishy lately, but I have decided not to worry. I need to be focusing on my studies, especially in math. I walk out of my bedroom into the hallway. I have always thought of my house being creepy, maybe even haunted but, I have learned to live with it. As I walk downstairs every single step creaks. I cringe. When I get into the kitchen, Maddie is playing with her food and Mom is scolding at her. "Hi Mom" I said and kissed her on the cheek. "Hello sweetie, I made some chicken and veggies" she grunted. Throughout dinner Dad was no where to be found probably working on his computer. Maddie still did not seem to have a appetite, and soon enough we were both sent to our rooms for Mom to clean up. "Mom you sure you don't need me to help?" I asked. "It's fine" Mom replied. I followed Maddie upstairs. To be honest, I was pissed at Maddie. She was supposed to be the mature one! Why was she so mean to Mom? I had to feel bad for her, I mean she had no friends. Like none. Zero zip nada. All she did was play with her dumb dolls. Which I found eerie. I followed her into her room. "What the hell was that?" I demanded. Maddie looked at me like I was crazy. "What?" She said. "You were so rude to Mom back there. What was that about?" I shouted. "Lower your voice, your making the dolls scared" Maddie whispered. I looked around her room in every little space there was, it was filled with dolls. Even Maddie's bed was old and vintage and soon I felt uncomfortable. One doll, with vivid purple eyes was staring straight at me. Then, it winked.
