"Why?" Her emotions betrayed her and the unshed tears she tried so hard to suppress fell. "Why?!"
The boy kept silent as she sent weak punches to his chest. At the sight of him removing his bracelet, she shouted, "No! No-no-no."
"Please." Her words of desperation confirmed that she was holding onto one last string of hope that kept her sanity through all of this, their shared bracelet.
"Jeonghan, please. Tell me. Why?" Her voice cracked. "Jeong-"
"-han! Wake up!" Jeonghan opened his eyes to see his childhood friends
"Ya! Were you having a bad dream or something?"
'Ugh. Stupid dream.'
"How'd you get into my apartment?" He asked as he massaged his temples trying to ease his throbbing head.
"Don't you remember? You drank again last night." S.Coups explained
"Got wasted, and we got a call from Sowon asking us to pick you up at some bar." Joshua continued
S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, and Sowon are childhood friends. Their mothers were close friends before they were born.
"She told us you were flirting with her over the phone while she was with her friends." All three cringed at the same time.
He started remembering bits and pieces of what happened last night.
"Oh, god. Please tell me I didn't do that." He fumbled around for his phone.
"Oh, you did." S.Coups sarcastically said
"Not that!" As he opened his call log he found a number he knew all too well. "Oh, no-no-no." Even though he deleted her number and tried to forget, it was useless because it had been ingrained into his heart long ago.
And last night he dialed her phone number out of habit.
"Ugh! Kill me now!" He slumped back to his bed
"What'd you do?" The two sat on either side of his bed
"I called my ex last night." He said with a groan as he buried his head into a pillow.
"Which ex?" S.coups asked
"My first ex."
"You mean your 'one and only serious relationship ex'?" Joshua quoted and Jeonghan glared at the two, looking up from his pillow.
"You messed up big time." The two cackled as they rolled on the floor gasping for air.
"Shut up. I know." He face-palmed
"Did she answer you?" The two finally stopped laughing
"Apparently, yes." 'Stupid. Stupid. Why'd you call her last night?!'
