When did I grow old?
Just yesterday, I was playing with my friends
In the streets till 9 at night
Mom called out my name from the balcony
I shout back "10 minutes mummy"
And those 10 minutes went on to being an hour.
I'd play and play
And not get tired
I'd laugh and laugh
And never feel any pain
Even when I broke my nose or sprained my ankle
I'd play and enjoy every silly thing in this world.
Look at me now,
I sit in front of these screens
Glasses on. Watching people live their lives.
Dreaming that one day I will go out there too
Live life like theirs' But I keep dreaming Don't even try to go out
And try to live the life I have now.
I stand on my balcony on the 8th floor in this quiet neighborhood
In the parking lot, I see little children,
Living their lives, running screaming with joy, cycling, playing.
Few parents are there too. And they're watching their kids live their lives.
They're happy.
