Getting dressed, Levi was humming a song his mother would sing. He was almost ready to meet the German royalty, which would be disappointing if that strnage kid from the town turned out to be the prince. Maybe he's the younger sibling of the real one he is yet to meet? Who knows.

He was just finished getting his black boots over his black pants, which were slightly looser than it's supposed to be but it was the smallest the servants could manage. Getting his white undershirt on, he found the black cover up's ropes tangled. Tch. Struggling to get those damned knots out, he heard a knock on his door.

"Rivaille." It was Erwin, "The Germans are here."

Levi snickered to himself. When he was small, Erwin told him a story of whenever he sees a person from Great Britain, he'd say "The British are coming, the British are coming!", but when Levi tried it, he'd always mistake the British for Germans. Thus, it became a little joke that only Erwin and Levi understood.

"Rivaille." Called Erwin again.

Levi made an annoyed sound. He wasn't even close to ready and they were here already? His clothes weren't even cooperating with him.

"Erwin, call my mother over for me please."

There was no response and Levi just sighed and turned around, but as he did so, he misplaced his footing and stumbled, hitting his shin against a bookshelf corner.

"Merde!" He shouted as he fell to the ground and a couple of books fell over.

Getting up, Levi kicked off a book that fell on his leg but he recognized it as one of the books he never got to read. It was the only gift his father gave him. A book that a simple 5 year old couldn't even begin to comprehend. Since he learned so much philosophy, he was beginning to think and question his religion and rules. To make him understand, the king bought a book as a way to kick his ass to not question it.

Like a way of saying, "Here's a bite in the ass to make you behave."

Well, now he was old enough to read this, and he read the prologue before. The book was about a young boy who was a farmer, who loved a princess. Two people from two separate worlds. It intrigued Levi, and now that he remembered the book, he thought the best time to at least start it would be now. He picked up the book, admiring the sky blue hard cover and the gold lettering embossed into the book, making it almost look like a masterpiece. He opened it, and flipped to the first chapter.

After reading about 15 pages, he heard a knock on the door, which startled him to shut the book quickly.
He got up and answered the door.

"Hello, maman," he said, "Why are you here?"

Celia invited herself into his room and frowned at the mess of books and her son not even dressed.

Well," she said, "Erwin told me that you needed to see me, and judging what I see, you absoloutely do."

Levi noticed she was disappointed in seeing his books scattered. He quickly grabs two or three books and put them back on the shelf.

"Sorry, maman. I was getting ready but tripped on my book shelf, and kocked over a couple of books. I'll pick the rest up later. Also, I called you because my uniform ropes were tangled."

Celia looked over and saw the mess of ropes on Levi's attire and got to undoing the knots. Levi started picking up the books and sorting them out as he placed them back on the shelf, leaving "La Passion" out to read. When his mother was finished, she smiled and gave him the uniform to put on. He did so, and made sure that it was straight, and took his cravat and straitened it out. Celia helped straight his outfit out and opened the door for him.
