Chapter 7

Wen Ning: "PRINCESS!!!"

*PUSH*

A giant appeared from behind the princess, it pushed the four boys with brute force with one arm while the other wrapped around her waist. Before disappearing/teleporting away, Wen Ning was able to grab a piece of the giant's clothing, disappearing/teleporting with them.

Hearing sudden unknown noises, the Clan Leaders ran down (or is it up?) towards the mountains where the juniors, Lan Zhēn, and Wen Ning were, but only saw the pained juniors.

Jiang Cheng: "Jin Ling!"

Jiang Cheng ran to his nephew who was on the floor, his arms holding his chest. He held his nephew and started checking him. Clan Leader Ouyang ran to his son to do the same as well as Lan Wangji towards Shizui and Jingyi. Lan Xichen looked everywhere, but did not see his daughter.

Lan Xichen (shaken): "Shizui. Where's Lan Zhēn?"

Shizui froze for a minute, he stood up in pain looked his surrounding, but Lan Zhēn was nowhere to be seen, Jingyi also stood up and looked around.

Lan Jingyi: "Where's Wen Ning? Was he taken too?"

Ouyang Zizhen (in small pain): "N-no. I saw him grab onto a piece the giant's clothing, maybe he was teleported along with them."

Clan Leader Ouyang: "Giant?"

Jin Ling: "He looked like a normal man, but very muscular and VERY big. I've never seen such a man with such a height."

Ouyang Zizhen: "Was it a man though? That thing was too huge to be a human."

Jiang Cheng: "Giants? As in..."

Everyone looked at Lan Xichen with worried looks, Lan Xichen looked like he was having a hard time breathing already, but he stood his ground. He closed his eyes and breathed gently as to concentrate on what to do, and heavily exhaled while slowly opening his eyes. He then looked at everyone with sharp eyes, showing determination.

Lan Xichen: "Everyone. We need to get Lan Zhēn back, who knows what the enemy has in plan."

Clan Leader Yao: "Yes! We need to hurry, maybe the enemy already knows how much of a threat Miss Lan is to them!"

Jiang Cheng: "Let's separate and look for her; if we end up finding a member of the gang instead, we either follow them or interrogate them."

Nie Huisang: "But wouldn't they disappear like Gēgē said? After all, they can teleport away instantly and reappear anywhere, we'll loose them in seconds."

Jiang Cheng: "It's better than doing nothing."

Lan Xichen: "Clan Leader Jiang is right. We'll all separate into different groups; one group being all disciples while the other will have us Leaders. First, we'll look around Gusu; and if we can't find her nor Wen Ning, we'll separate more thus creating more groups. But we need to keep a good number of group members though, these people are dangerous and knows what they're doing as well as what to do. Those giants, as our juniors have witnessed, don't even appear human for how their appearance and actions are. We need to be careful in many ways; like any other bandit or criminal, we Leaders are of high cost; and as you all know, I'm both a witness and survivor of it."

Everyone nodded at this and started preparing.

It's been three days since the lookout for Lan Zhēn and Wen Ning started, and despite the week not being close to ending, Lan Xichen could not possibly feel any more anxiety and frustration as he does at the moment. He's trying his hardest as to not to look for her alone out of desperation. He was really trying his best to keep calm, Lan Qiren and Lan Wangji being the ones with calming pills in their pockets in case they were necessary, as well as Wangji being the one that plays him the Guqin almost every night as to help calm Lan Xichen's mind. The Clan Leaders were very worried that the Lan Clan Leader, who was normally the calmest one out of all of them, would be the most panicked one; but it is to be expected from a father who didn't need a woman nor a wife to raise a child for 8 solid years and risking his life when discovering her true identity. So for their dear Lan friend's sake, they worked harder and harder into looking for a sign of the Princess or Wen Ning's existence, any sign at all.

Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling accompanied by at least 7 disciples, were in a forest a bit aways from between Lanling and Yunmeng (Lanling was closer tho) on their horses looking for the two missing people.

Jin Ling: "Uncle? What do we do if we end up running into both of them? As in, Wen Ning or Miss Lan and the enemy?"

Jiang Cheng: "If we run into Wen Ning, we save him first and we'll all fight together, maybe even hold a gang member hostage. If we run into Lady Lan, you will take her to Lanling with you accompanied by most of the guards."

Jin Ling: "But what about you? Are you telling me that I should leave you?"

Jiang Cheng (glare): "What are you taking me as?! A child? The only child in this group is you. You're the future of Jin Clan and Lady Lan is the future of Lan Clan, you're both important and must go back to safety. (Looks up ahead) I can defend myself just fine, whether you accept it or not, I'm much stronger than you are. So you keep your eyes open for any signs of the two of them and be ready if we were to run into Lady Lan instead. Am I clear?"

Jin Ling (semi-irritated): "Yes."

*Silence*

*Shrub shrub*

They stopped when sensing a presence behind the bushes, only for both Wen Ning AND Lan Zhēn to pop out of them.

Jiang Cheng/Jin Ling: "Princess!"

Wen Ning: "Shh! We need to run! The Leader of the gang might already know the Princess escaped!"

Jiang Cheng nodded, understanding the situation and deciding to keep the questions for last. Jiang Cheng gave them the extra horse they've brought in case they found them, but Wen Ning stopped Jiang Cheng for a moment and told him that it would be best if she was riding a horse with either Childe Jin or with him (Jiang Cheng), since being with him (Wen Ning) would only make her a bigger target. Jiang Cheng agreed and let her ride with Jin Ling, her being at front while Jin Ling in the back, that way she's more secured, Jin Ling still controlled the horse though. After this being decided, Wen Ning helped her unto the same horse as Jin Ling, he mounted the given horse, and they left... Without knowing that the enemy was closer than they thought they would be, ready to pounce... at any time...

A/N: Sorry for the short chapter! I'll make sure to make up for it on the next one. Okay? At the beginning of the next chapter, it will be about Wen Ning and about what happened after being teleported with the giant and Zhēn, I'll even try to include a cute drawing of Wen Ning because... Why not? XD

I hope I'm forgiven this way?

Also, is it Gēgē or Dage? Like, calling the other "brother"? I'm a bit confused with it. Let me know in the comments!
