Past: Ryota's biological father had left as soon as he found out his mom was pregnant. When he was 1, he met his new step dad. His mom and step dad where dating for 2 years, and then got married. When he was 8, his little sisters where born. His step dad was obsessed with volleyball, and made Ryota play with him. In Junior High he met his best friend and his girlfriend. They all had stuck by each other. When it was time for high school, Ryota's girlfriend and best friend where going to Nekoma high, he wanted to go to, but his step dad made him go to Karasuno because it was the school he went to. Ryota, his girlfriend and his best friend all decided to keep in touch with one another. Ryota's step father had also made him join the volleyball club, he would have liked to join the writing club, but nooooo.
