I stood on the end of the balancing beam. It was the only thing separating me from a gold medal. I breathed deeply and began to flip across it. I have worked on this for six months and tonight it would pay off. All of a sudden I no longer felt the beam beneath me.
I plummeted towards the blue mats on the gym floor. I hit the ground with a bone rattling thud! I didn't feel my left arm or my right leg. All that was there was a tingly feeling.
People ran towards me. Soon I blacked out.
