"Look, look, over there!" Lancelot said excitedly.
Jimmy looked up from the ground that he had been staring at for the past half an hour. He watched Lancelot bound over to a huge green tree, not only were the leaves green, so was the bark. It was one enormous green tree.
"What is this thing?" Jimmy asked as his mouth filled with saliva, because there hanging from a branch on the far side of the tree was the biggest and juiciest looking plum.
Jimmy ran over to it as fast as the Flash. But before he could get his hands on it something plucked it up into the tree. Then he heard a sound like a monkey would make, but that is not what stuck its head out of the tree. Some sort of animal, with the face of an Elephant, the legs and body of a lion, and the tail of a monkey did instead.
"Why does that not surprise me?" asked Jimmy to himself. Lancelot came bounding over. " What is it? What happened?" he asked excitedly.
Jimmy turned to face Lancelot. "I came over here to pick what looked like a rare plum, but before I could this weird animal with the face of an elephant, the legs and body of a lion, and the tail of a monkey popped out of the tree and snatched it up." Jimmy whined .
"Oh my bowl of Sun dried tomatoes!" Lancelot exclaimed his face growing solem. "That sounds like a Gorden. They are said to be very dangerous, and you saw one!"
Lancelot jumped up and landed on Jimmy's shoulder, taking his head in his tiny paws and looking him up and down.
"Did he bite or scratch you!?" Lancelot asked a little terrified . "No, you wackadoodle! Get off me!" Jimmy said as he shrugged his shoulder trying to get Lancelot off.
"Fine fine, I was only worried about you. Or I..I mean...." Lancelot stammered.
"Did you just say you were worried about me?" asked Jimmy.
"No I was merely..." Lancelot tried to say, before Jimmy cut him off.
"Youuu liiike mee" Jimmy sang in a mocking voice.
"No, I don't" Lancelot said as he giggled uncomfortably.
"Fine, but you can't deny it forever," said Jimmy with a teasing grin on his face.
Lancelot hopped down off Jimmy's shoulder and smiled sheepishly up at him. Then, as if on cue, something with the loud mass of a large Elephant fell to the ground. Lancelot and Jimmy took a step towards each other as they turned to see what had made the raucous. To their surprise, the Gorden was right behind them with an armful of plums one falling after the other. Jimmy and Lancelot froze, silence fell over the woods except for the soft sound of a plum falling out of the Gorden's arms.
"My great cucumber salad!" said Lancelot with extreme surprise, "Cousin, I can't believe it's you, I thought you died.....Everyone thinks you died!" Lancelot shouted in a state of disbelief.
"Well here I am, not dead, as you can see," said Beaumont, Lancelot's cousin.
"But how??" Lancelot questioned.
As he pushed off Jimmy and ran to give his long lost cousin a great big bunny hug. Beaumont reciprocated the hug and if you look closer you would have seen a single tear run down the Gorden's chubby cheek.
"Ahem" came a voice.
Reality came straight for Lancelot and smacked him in the face. He suddenly realized that he was crushing his cousin nearly to death.(Again) Beaumont and Lancelot mutually let go of each other and took a step back.
"Though it is great to see you Beaumont, I have to ask. Where have you been all these years?" inquired Lancelot.
"Waaiit a second!" Jimmy declared a mixed up expression on his face. "If you two are cousins, why the flower covered meadow would you say he's so dangerous!?"
"Well since the Gorden species are so sensitive and fragile, the bunny kingdom decided to tell people that, to help the Gordens survive." Lancelot forenamed as if it were an everyday thing.
"Yep, and the rumors have helped us for over a thousand generations." said Beaumont proudly looking at Lancelot.
"Fragile?? Did you see the way he scarfed down those plums or how he just plummeted out of that tree?"exclaimed Jimmy flailing his arms about, pointing and waving.
Then there was a rustle in the bushes about ten feet away from the bunch. Something whizzed out from the trees. A spear as sharp as Lucifer himself buried itself into the fleshiness of Beaumont's left shoulder.
"Beaumont!!" Lancelot screamed.
He ran over and caught the falling Gorden before he hit the ground. Beaumont's eyes were getting fuzzy and he was starting to see black. Jimmy sprinted over and helped elevate Beaumont's vast elephant head. Beaumont's eyes were closing, but before they could, he caught a glimpse of the most beautifully evil eyes he'd ever seen, hiding beyond the trees. Then everything went dark.
