Jeongguk walked rapidly to the King's Chambers ignoring every head that was bowing to him.

The doors opened for him to enter.

They were in the middle of redecorating the room for him, their new King.

Jeongguk watched as all of Taehyung's bejewelled robes

were being pulled out of the closet, and Jeongguk's more normal yet royal clothes were being placed.

They weren't changing much except for minor things like these.

The paintings that were hung by Taehyung weren't needed to be dealt with because most of them were either Jeongguk's or made by Jeongguk.

Including the portrait of Taehyung that he was standing in front of.

The former King looked beautiful in a plain white cotton tunic.

He sat on a chair, a hand supporting his chin, the other gripping the chair.

He sat gracefully with his legs crossed and on display.

His blond locks were feely gliding down his shoulder on one side, leaving the other bare.

Even his eyelashes were captured perfectly.

Jeongguk had gifted this to Taehyung two years ago. It had taken him 9 months to complete this.

Before he knew it there were hands gripping the painting, trying to take it down.

"Stop," his voice echoed in the room making everyone halt. He commanded everyone to leave then.

He sounded angry, maybe at himself or at them, we do not know.

As soon as the chamber rooms closed Jeongguk was taking the painting down himself, only to drop it hard on the ground.

But the sound of shattering wasn't of the glass which had encased the painting, it was his heart.

The king slumped to the floor as his knees became too weak to stand.

Tears flowed down his eyes as he let out a heart-wrenching scream.

It hurt him to no extent to see Taehyung in such a state.

Of Course, he loved Taehyung.

He loved Taehyung with every fibre of his being.

He never wanted to see Taehyung cry again.

He was surprised when Kim Namjoon and Kim Seokjin came to meet him right after his spies informed him about the revolts being planned all over the Kingdom- with the help of King Min.

Kim Namjoon was the leader of the revolution which was being planned, while Kim Seokjin was King Min's General.

They had visited him 2 months ago when he was away from the capital. He was sitting in an audience with his Knights when they walked into their tent.

Jeongguk had found out too late but even then he couldn't do anything about it.

Even his knights were ready to join them, he could see it in their eyes.

They wanted him to lead them, which was both suspicious and surprising.

He was Taehyung's most loyal servant.

But apparently, that's one of the reasons why they wanted him.

Another reason was his leadership and his Knights.

Jeongguk accepted it.

His reasons were different. It was either he became a part of it and saved Taehyung or die at their hands and leave Taehyung to suffer without him.
