Chapter 18

It was another busy day in SM entertainment for NCT, it was the beginning of a new month and NCT 127 were currently working on their third new upcoming mini album. All unit members were in the studio, just finishing up on a few more tracks.

The current situation about Jaemin has thawed out, it hasn't been the talk around the company anymore. Most staff told other idols and trainees to keep it shut, so they obeyed. The members had to keep it quiet as well, but they would talk about it again without others around. As time flies, the more worried they get especially for both Jaemin's parents.

Both Mr. and Ms. Na had now closed the cafe every Saturday, using the whole day to also take part in finding their missing son by themselves but so far, there wasn't much luck for them yet the company itself. Lee Sooman was so close to giving up as well, with four months passing with no progress, he was so close to stop the search but the members managed to persuade him to continue till now.

The recording session soon came to an end as the members were now off back to their dorms. Mark and Haechan began to split up with the others, now heading to the dreamies dorm. The two entered to see the dreamies sitting down in a circle, looking like they were just discussing about something. The two looked at each other as they furrowed their eyebrows. The youngest member, Jisung noticed his hyungs standing by the door way as his eyes lit up, shouting their name while waving his hand, telling them to come over.

"yo guys! come over here!" he cheered.

Both Mark and Haechan made their way towards the others making them spread out, making some room as they all were now back in a circle.

"come with us," Renjun said.

"to where?" Haechan responds with a confused look.

"let's join the others to find Jaemin!" Chenle said.

"you're crazy,"

"its a good idea, Kun hyung can take us," Jisung said as the other three agreed with him.

"we can't, we still have a music video to shoot," Haechan answered.

"we can-" Mark begins as Haechan turned to face him in shock.

"we can do it after we finish shooting, but not all of us can go,"

"we don't want to attract too much attention" he added.

The members looked at eachother, dissapointed yet they knew what Mark said to them is true. They took the time to discuss while Mark began to think of a plan, what to prepare, what to do and where to head first beforehand.

"Jisung and i will come with you,"

Back in the Shin residence, both Uncle Jin and Aunt Soo had to go out of town to attend a friend's wedding for the weekend leaving the house with the children. The three were currently chilling in the living room, watching some tv.

Shinrae and Jaemin were seated on the sofa together as Hyunjae chose to sat on the floor, closer to the tv as they watch another idol music show. Shinrae's eyes were glued to the screen till cheering noises coming from her little brother made her snap back into reality. She sat up and turned to Jaemin who was just watching tv.

The music show ended with a short break as a music video popped up. She looked back towards the tv and before she knew it, Jaemin began to scream. It turns out "chewing gum" was playing and it made her smile.

"hyung that's you!" Hyunjae points towards the screen as Jaemin in a pajama looking attire began to pop up.

"ooo hyung you're so cool! the ladies would really like you! " Hyunjae teased the young man as the two boys began to laugh.

"stop it," Jaemin spoke,feeling embarrassed.

"yea the ladies would really love you Jaemin," Shinrae spoke. Jaemin turned to look at Shinrae instantly, her attention was now on the tv screen.

"its true," she said as she slowly turned to look at him.

"you're kind, caring, handsome and uh.... heart warming," she spoke as her voice began to soften. The two stared at eachother but Shinrae broke eye contact right away. Jaemin's eyes remain as they are as he looked at her, he knew something was wrong. Shinrae cleared her throat as she stood up from her seat,

"alright who wants take out?" she said.

"me!! I want fried chicken,"Hyunjae cheers making her smile. She ruffled her brothers hair before walking away up the stairs.

"I'll be right back okay! " she yells.

Shinrae proceeds to go up the stairs to her room. She went up to her vanity mirror to tie her hair up into a ponytail. She heard footsteps heading towards her room as she looked into the mirror to see Jaemin.

"what was that?" he said.

Shinrae turned around to walk up to her study desk to look for her purse in her bag while Jaemin was standing by the doorframe waiting for her response.

"what?"

"oh the ladies will love me? how could you say that," Jaemin spoke as he began to enter her room, walking towards her. Shinrae grabbed a hold of her purse and began to walk into her closet but Jaemin blocked her way.

"tell me,"

"its nothing," she said. She looked up at him to see a slight anger in his eyes.

"bullshit, what is up with you? do you actually really like me or is this all just a game to you!?" he snapped as Shinrae stood there silent.

"you're not gonna want me anymore after this," she spoke as she moved to walk into her closet with Jaemin walking behind.

"what?"

"you're not gonna want me anymore once you're all recovered okay!" she snaps back as her eyes began to water.

"you can't stay here forever, as much as i want you to but that's just wrong," she said as she began to wipe off her tears as she sniffles, giving him a smile. She grabbed her coat as she began to walk towards Jaemin.

"i meant what i said, the ladies will love you," she said.

"like i do," she blinked as she walked away. Jaemin was still standing in her closet as he thought of the words she said. The sound of the front door shut loudly made him flinch as a tear fell down his cheek.

"hyung! where are you?!" Hyunjae calls out for him. He began to wipe of his tear and walked out of her room.

"im coming!"
