It was about a month after Jayne got home from hospital when she started feeling change in her legs. She was getting to know the other members of the Kaisers Chiefs and found she got on well with Simon. He was tall and as skinny as a bean pole with lots of curly hair that flopped over his face.

Sometimes the band would meet up at each other's houses for interviews over the phone and Jayne would tag along to Simon's since he got a kitten. There was something about Sid, the kitten, that she couldn't resist. Maybe it was the big green eyes, excitable kitten play or the way she curled up on any available lap. Either way Jayne knew she was going to be as good friends with Sid as she was with Simon.

One evening Jayne and Ricky were having dinner with Simon and his girlfriend, Emma. After dinner they went through to the lounge and chatted as they sat on the sofas by the fire. Jayne pat the sofa cushion next to her to invite Sid the kitten to sit next to her. Sid jumped up and started kneading Jayne's legs with her front paws.

"Ow! Sid! Less claws!" Jayne told the kitten before she realised.

She looked over at Ricky with shock. He looked back blankly.

"Did you hear what I said?" she grinned.

"What? No." he replied.

"I told Sid that her claws are hurting me." she said.

"Yeah..." he replied vaguely. Then the penny dropped. "You can feel her claws in your legs?"

"Yeah!" she grinned.

"Oh my god! That's fantastic!" he grinned. "You're getting better!"

"I can feel!" she laughed.

She put her hand out to him for a high five but he pushed it away and leant over to kiss her.

"Stop kissing, you two!" Simon laughed.

"I can feel my legs again Simon!" Jayne laughed.

"That's a hell of a kiss!" he laughed.

"More like a hell of a cuddle with Sid. I can feel her claws!" she grinned.

From then on Jayne focussed on trying to move her toes. There was very little progress but she wasn't going to let it hamper her. She would sit up slightly in bed against the pillows and stare at her bare feet every morning and tell her big toes to move.

The first day, nothing. The second day, nothing. The third day, nothing. This continued every morning until about two weeks until there was a tiny twitch. Jayne threw her arms in the air and laughed in celebration. Another week later she could see noticeable movement. Ricky heard her laughing one morning when he was at home as he had the day off.

"You alright in here?" he asked as he peaked into her bedroom.

"I'm practically dancing!" she grinned.

He looked at her suspiciously.

"You know you can't dance, right?" he asked.

"I know but look at my toes go!" she giggled.

"That's great!" he grinned. "I've just been on the phone to my manager. He wanted to know if I want to bring a guest to a film premier next month. I said you probably wouldn't be interested."

"What film?" she asked.

"Harry Potter." he replied.

"You did what?" she gasped in horror. "You're going to see the film without me?"

"Nah, just messing with you!" he laughed.

"Not cool dude! Don't joke about going to a Harry Potter premier without me. You know how much I love the films." she told him.
