"how hard can it be?" melanie let out a loud sigh, tightening her long ponytail that sprouted at the top of her head. she looked at her bound hands one last time and clenched them before approaching the punching bag that hung off of the ceiling of her dingy apartment.

she raised a strong, or at least what she thought was strong, fist and threw a punch at the unfamiliar boxing equipment. it lightly swung back before breaking off from the ceiling and falling, hitting her on the head and causing her to black out.
