three : i'll make a man out of you

a while passed before a loud speaker started announcing that the fighters would be fighting in the second round. guess I missed a bit.. two guys stepped into the ring, one of them familiar from earlier, and both of them looking a bit beat up

the first round ended by the guy called eric (the one calum was training) getting a pretty bad punch to the jaw from thomas. and before i knew it, calum jumped up to the ring and pulled eric down and dragged him behind. he pulled him past me and went up the staircase.

my curiosity took over, so i couldn't help but peek around the corner. when i did, i saw eric sitting down in the middle of the staircase being yelled at.

"what the fuc k was that?! don't you dare fuc king tell me that i wasted all of my fucking time on you when you can't even take a weak punch to your face!" calum spat, "i should've listened to will when he said you were worthless. i swear to god, if you don't step it up for the last round and let him beat you..."

what a polite mouth..

"woah!" i yelled, giving up on 'peeking' and going unnoticed. both of their glares immediately were on me. "why are you being so hard on him?!"

"eric, do you know this guy?" calum asked, earning a shake of eric's head. guy? why would he think i was a- oh, right.. "why are you defending him, then?"

"just because i think you're being a bit too harsh. it was one mistake! so what if he wasted a little bit of your time?! time is just time!" i yelled, throwing my hands up.

calum chuckled, stepping down from the stairs and stepping towards me. i backed up so that i was back in the main room.

"time is not just time. time is money. and guess what? i'm not a big fan of losing money." he said, crossing his arms and getting closer to me.

"i don't think anyone is really a big fan of losing m-"

"shut the hell up, smart ass. what do you even know about this?" he pointed a finger at me and i frowned.

"not much, but i do know that i want to start fighting." i admitted.

"you want to start fighting?" he laughed. i was waiting for him to say something about me being a girl, but it surprisingly didn't come.

"yes." i answered.

"you don't even have an ounce of muscle on your body."

"well, you are a trainer aren't you?"

"yeah, but like i said before, i don't have time to wa-" he paused for a second before raising an eyebrow. "actually, yes. i would absolutely love to show you what it's like in the ring." he said, right before patting eric on the back, motioning for him to get back to the ring.

calum raised an eyebrow at me and i bit the side of my cheek, turning around and walking to the side to watch the last round.

the last round was definitely different. i almost felt like i was watching two starving animals fight over who got the lamb. i could never even imagine being the victim of the punches that were being thrown; being an only child meant that i had no siblings to brawl with.

it ended with the other guy hung over one of the ropes of the ring, gasping for breath. eric raised a hand in success and calum hopped over the ropes, grasping his hand and cheering loudly. but before he hopped back down, he flashed a glance toward me. i found myself diverting my glance, but it was impossible to ignore him once he stood in front of me.

"if you still think you want to fight, tomorrow night, meet me here." he purposely looked down at his hand that had blood on it from eric's bloody knuckles and crossed his arms, smirking at me.

i nodded, turning around and swallowing hard before quickly exiting the scene.
