Emerald

(y/n)'s POV

I was sitting by the river when I saw a pretty rock. I stood up and moved the water, and fish, from around the rock so I could grab it. I looked at it for a minute and let the water frow over my knees down. I hold it up to the sun and look at it "oh! its not a rock" it was shiny and slightly transparent. It was a pretty green colour. I immideatly thought of Tamaki. "is it an emerald..?" I ask myself. I beleve it is.. I walk out of the water with it, dry myself off with my fire quirk and put my shoes back on. I decide to go to a stone shop and ask what the stone was. yup. it was an emerald. I took it back to the dorms.

"oh! hey, (y/n)! you were out for a while" I hear Mirio call to me as soon as I walk into the main room. I smile at him, carfully putting the emerald in my bag. "yeah, I was by the river. It calms me down" really, water in general calms me down. I go into the kitchen and open the freezer. I grab a popsical. I lean agenst the counter as I eat it, looking through instagram. I giggle at a meme about a water quirk "relatable" I wisper to myself. "what are you looking at?" I hear a girls voice ask me. I jump a bit and turn to see a red haired girl. she looks kinda mean. her hair was as red as fire and her eyes were yellow. she had a frown on her face "u-uhm..m-memes?.." I answer her. she rolls her eyes "ugh. your lame. move out of my way, freak" she pushes past me, burning my arm. It heals instanly seance my body is meant for fire. "if you want to hurt me, you have to try a lot harder than that"  I fill a mug with my water quirk and heat it up with my fire quirk. she looks at me, shoked "ugh, whatever!!" she flips her hair and storms away. I smirk and make tea with the boiling water. "that was Yogan..she's not the nicest person.." I hear a soft, quiet voice. I knew exactly who that was. "T-Tamaki!" I turn to look at him. He smiles a little. I get a shiver and feel my face heat up. I grab my cup and walk to the living room and sit next to Mirio. "your red, are you okay?" he asks me. "I think so..my heart is racing, my face is burning, I have butterflies-" I tell him. "I think I know what is wrong. I just need to know one more thing. when did you start feeling this today?" he asks. I think for a minute and then answer "When Tamaki came into the kitchen" I tell  him. he nods "I know exactly whats wrong with you" he smiles at me. I look at him, curious "are you going to tell me?" I ask him and he shakes his head and gets up "nope. thats for you to figure out." I walks away and I sink into my seat "...rude.." I mumble. I reach in my bag and pull out the emerald. I stare at the green stone in my hand and feel the couch sink next to me. "did you find that?.." I hear Tamaki ask. I nod "yeah..It was in the river.." I turn it in my hands. "It remimded me of you.." I say softly. I don't look at him but I can tell he is embaressed and shy "w-what?..why?.." he asks. I hum a bit "I don't know..beautiful..one of a kind..." I shrug. "but mostly..when I put it up to the sun, it shone and sparkled..." I held it up to the nearest natural light "like you..you'd outsine the sun if you wanted to.." I tell him with a small smile. I look over to him and he's crying, his face red. "uh..Tamaki?.." I ask, ducking my head down to see his face "why are you crying?? did I do something wrong?" I ask him. he shakes his head "n-no..t-that was r-really nice.." he studders. I smile at him and put my hand on his back "It's true! I really think that you can outshine even the sun!" he looks up at me. 'damn..he's really cute..' I think to myself. I feel heat rise to my cheeks but I ignore it. "(y-y/n)..I think t-that you could b-be brighter than t-the sun, too.." he says it so sweetly and meaningfully. "..thank you, Tamaki.." I say with a smile. he blushes and nods. Nejire walks up to us and sits in between us "hey guys!" she says, putting her arms around us. I quickly put away the emerald and push her hand off of me. "don't touch me.." I say quietly. Tamaki looks used to this. poor guy. "oh, sorry! why not?" she asks "b-because I don't like it.." I fumble with my sleve. "oh..okay, thats fine! I'm sorry I scared you yesterday, by the way.." she says. she sounds sencere.."It's okay" I offer a small smile. she smiles and jumps up and turns around to face us "we should all go do something tomarrow! Mirio, me and you two!" she suggests "I..don't think I have a choice.." I say. Tamaki nods. "nope! see, your already fitting in!" when she says that, I flinch "I don't need to fit in" I say bluntly and stand up "what? oh, thats not what I ment, silly! I meant that you are already getting used to us!" she waves her hand dissmisivly, smiling innocently. I feel myself sink into a pool of darkness called depression. I hang my head for a second and then lift my head up and smile a fake smile "I know! I was kidding" I feel Tamaki's gaze on me.
