[Third person POV]
[woeiiw words]Izuku scaled the UA building, heaving himself onto the roof. He slumped down by the rails and scratched his wrist. His mind had filled with memories of his father; the training he had to endure. The abuse, neglect, and the pain. It had come back to him as if it happened that morning.
'Izuku?' A familiar voice called.
The student spun around, noticing the principal with a cup of tea.
'What are you doing? I thought you had an appointment with Inui...' He mumbled as he sipped his tea.
Izuku didn't know what to say. He wanted to jump of the building and run, but he didn't have shock absorbing shoes on.
Nezu stared at him for a while, before gesturing for him to follow. 'Come with me.'
Izuku watched the principal walk off. He reluctantly stood up and followed the hero through the roof exit. They walked through the long school hallways until they arrived at his office, which was far larger than necessary.
'Take a seat,' Nezu gestured as he sat down on a chair.
Izuku stood still. Nezu stared at him. They stared at each other, until Izuku glanced at the lounge. He clicked his tongue twice and watched as Yukiko appeared. She meowed softly and spun around.
'Oh! I didn't even notice she was here...' Nezu chuckled.
Izuku sat down next to the kitten and stroked her fur gently. She seemed ecstatic to see Izuku and climbed all over him.
'You should take a nap... A little kitten once told me you haven't slept much at all this week...' Nezu poured himself another cup of tea.
'I'm not tired,' he signed.
'Okay... well, do you want to talk about why you're not at your appointment with Inui?'
Izuku stared at the principal before looking back towards his kitten. He shook his head.
'That's alright...' He stared at Izuku. 'Anyway... regarding the sports festival, since you're not participating, would you like to help guard the premises?'
'That would still have me out in the open...' Izuku scratched his head.
'Yes... but, if you attended in your vigilante costume, there should be no issue, correct?'
Izuku thought to himself. It was a beneficial inquiry. He would have the chance to asses the students while not being the centre of attention.
He was quite sure the league had no clue about his identity as diamond, so even if they noticed him on the live stream, he wouldn't be targeted.
'Very well. I will guard the festival.' Izuku sat his kitten on his shoulder. 'Email me the details. I best be off...'
Nezu smiled as he watched the student leave the office silently. Of course, he had his own motives for suggesting the vigilantes cooperation with the hero's. Izuku is relatively strong, but also sees the world in a way others don't. He can analyse abnormalities or notice slight changes that others can't. His senses are sharp, and he reacts quickly.
Just like at USJ, where he sensed an abnormality in the lights and pushed Iida out of the stadium. He's a quick thinker, and a rational decision maker. With Izuku occupied on the day, it would give Inui and himself the chance to talk with Yukiko and Shiroi about Izuku; maybe uncover some secrets.
It's an invasion of privacy, but Nezu was getting desperate for answers. What happened to Hisashi Midoriya, and why did he retire?
