"I love this song!" I scream to my best friend over the loud music. We've been here for at least 2 hours now and I'm still nowhere near tired. "This is the best way to end the year!" she screams to me. "I knew this would be a great idea! You can thank me" I laugh. We're jumping up and down to the beat and having the time of our lives. I haven't felt this happy in months and I feel great in this moment. "Would you like to dance?" I hear a voice from behind me that's almost inaudible due the volume of the music. I turn around and see an unfamiliar boy with soft dark brown hair and eyes. I smile and yell back "Of course". I turn to my best friend and say "Be back in a minute, Stacy". She notices the boy and winks at me. He grabs my hand without warning and drags me to an empty spot on the lit up floor so we have more room. We start dancing and just laughing at how silly we both look as we obviously have no idea how to dance. "I never got your name" he smirks. "Y/N, I never got yours either mystery boy". "It's Zach. Zach Herron". "Nice to meet you, mystery boy". He frowns playfully. We dance on the floor for the next couple of hours until we finally get exhausted. Stacy gets a cab home and Zach offers to drive me home (don't worry he's sober). "Thanks for tonight" I smile as we pull up to my house. "No problem, I had fun". "Me too". "We should do this again sometime". "Yes! We should". I hold out my hand and he gives me his phone. I enter my details and give it back to him. "Catch you later, mystery boy". I step out the car and wave as he smiles and drives off.

"Shut up" I playfully roll my eyes at my brother who's once again making fun of my height. "Just saying, maybe you should drink more milk" he laughs. "I'm perfectly fine the way I am" I frown. "Whatever, I'm going to the bathroom. I'll be back in a bit, save my seat". I nod as he gets up and walks off. As soon as he leaves a tall boy with curly hair walks into the lobby and starts walking towards the seating area where I am. "This seat taken?" he asks me. I smirk to myself knowing perfectly well I'm going to completely ignore what my brother just told me. "No" I smile at him. He sits down in the seat next to me and goes on his phone. I look back to see if my parents have checked in yet and see they're still at the counter. I sigh and lean back in my seat, bored out of my mind. He clearly notices as he says "You seem exhausted". "Yeah, just been waiting here for ages" I laugh. "Yeah, it can be a long wait. You here with your family?" he asks. "Yeah, you?". "No I'm actually here with my band". My eyes widen. "Wait...band? That's so cool". "Yeah, it is actually" he laughs. "So, what's your band name?" I ask. "Why Don't We". "Eh, cool name, I guess" I smirk. "You guess?" he suddenly says, offended. "I'm messing with you" I laugh. "You're a funny girl" he jokes. "I know" I say, which makes him laugh. "Yo, Jack we're ready bro" a guy says, walking into the lobby. "Jack? Nice name" I say. He smiles and gets up. "Eh, I guess" he jokes. "See you" I smile. "So, I'm not getting your number?" he frowns. "If it's meant to be, maybe we'll meet again" I shrug. "You can count on that, we're in the same hotel" he smiles. "I mean, it's a big hotel, but whatever you say" I laugh. "Well, go on then. You're friends look like they're waiting for you". "I'll find you later" he says. "Maybe" I smirk as he laughs and walks away with his friends.

"You ready?" Chris, my manager asks. "Born ready" I say as I walk off stage after sound check. I go backstage where Olivia touches up my outfit for the show. "Wait, I have to introduce you to some people first" Chris says to me. "Of course" I smile. Five boys then walk in and we say our hellos. One specific boy, who I remember as Daniel, catches my eye. "You're music is amazing, I heard it for the first time last week and I've got to give it to you" he says. "Thanks, but no time to fangirl over me, I have a show to do" I smirk. "You know what? I take it back. You're music is nothing compared to ours" he announces, jokingly. "Whatever helps you sleep at night" I laugh as I look at myself one more time in the mirror and walk onto stage. Thousands of screams immediately hit my ears and I look in awe at all of my supporters, overwhelmed with happiness. I absolutely loved performing and every time I did it, I felt as confident as ever. The music comes on and I look back to see Daniel looking at me from behind the curtain, back stage. Nerves fill me and my confidence from earlier fades. I don't know why I feel nervous with him watching me, but I have no choice. I start singing. I feel Daniel's eyes on me still and I start to get butterflies from the feeling. I'm still singing when I look back again to see him cheering me on and singing along. I smile at him and my confidence boosts again as I continue singing my heart out.
