5. Promise

"Jimin..." Yoongi said breathlessly. He stared at his phone screen, taking in the sight of his boyfriend, who was doing just the same. Not long after Jimin had received the letter Yoongi sent, he decided to face time immediately, and who could blame him? Yoongi surely didn't mind either.

My baby... he's finally here... I can see him... I can hear him...

He would be lying if he said he wasn't moved to tears.

"Yoongi," Jimin's voice cracked. "I-I've missed you."

A tear dropped from his eyes, making Yoongi do the exact same almost immediately. This was such a touching moment they would never forget.

"Baby, I know you did. I miss you too, how have you been?" Yoongi asked.

Jimin took a moment to dry his eyes. "I should be asking you that Yoon. everything here is just the same. Nothing's changed and I feel kind of alright now. Are things going well over there too?"

"Yeah, chim. I'm doing well." Yoongi smiled.

For the next two hours, Yoongi and Jimin spent their time chating, crying, laughing, venting... letting everything that they held back for the past four-ish months. It was healing to be honest, and they were thankful that they were able to get in contact again.

Since it was getting late, Jimin had no choice but to end the call, which made him feel glum afterward.

"Promise me you'll call me when you're free Yoongi," Jimin reminded.

"Yes, Chim, I promise," Yoongi slightly laughed. With a wave, they both ended the call, returning to the reality of being alone and separated.

Jimin sighed contently.

"I hope you really do call me back Yoongi," Jimin mumbles.

Yoongi often forgot easily, opposed to Jimin who keeps everything stored in his mind, so he was skeptical about if Yoongi would forget or not.

Yoongi wouldn't forget, would he?

Mm... he wouldn't forget me, I'm sure he won't...

Brushing off the negative thoughts, jimin collapsed onto his bed, letting the exhaustion and darkness envelop him.
