these are the canon warrior cat ranks present in the series


ORIGINAL RANKS.

leader ↷ the highest ranking cat in the clan. they are responsible for everything that goes on in the clan. they are in charge of making decisions, leading the clan into battles, speaking at gatherings and performing ceremonies. all leaders have the suffix "star" and nine lives in order to lead for as long as possible.

deputy ↷ the second in command to the leader. they help the leader with important tasks like organizing patrols, occasionally speaking at gatherings, taking over if the leader is unfit to keep watch over the clan, and finally becoming the new leader if the old one dies, retires or is banished.

mediator ↷ this rank is only present in some of the newest warrior cat books. they help solve disagreements and problems within the clan and between cats. this can help stop fights and arguments, and even prevent wars in extreme cases.

medicine cat ↷ a medicine cat's job is to treat sick and injured cats, as well as receive and interpret omens and prophecies from starclan.

medicine cat apprentice ↷ a young cat older than six moons who is training to be a medicine cat. like a regular apprentice, they have the suffix "paw". they are trained by medicine cats.

senior warrior ↷ older, more experienced warriors who are highly respected within their clan. most have had one or more apprentices and are often in charge of leading patrols and training sessions.

warrior ↷ adult cats who are responsible for feeding and protecting their clan. they also are sometimes tasked with training apprentices. when they are ready to retire, they become an elder.

apprentice ↷ young cats that are at least six moons old. they are trained by mentors to hunt, fight, patrol, etc. they also have small duties like cleaning dens and replacing moss bedding. apprentices have the suffix "paw".

queen ↷ a cat who is expecting or nursing kits. they do not have to do warrior duties again until their kits become apprentices. sometimes, queens prefer to stay queens and help care for litters other than their own.

kits ↷ cats younger than six moons. they live in the nursery with the queens and don't have any duties. they all have the suffix "kit".

elders ↷ retired warriors. they are not required to go on patrols or do warrior duties. they are mostly cared for by other members of the clan.
