Nathaniel pov:
I look around my surroundings, the church, the many graveyards, the pale lighting of the town...yup I'm back home.
Before I could even take a step, I heard the voice of the town Crier.

Town Crier: 5am! This strikes the 9th Hour Nathaniel Van Dort has been missing!

Wait what?! Oh no, My grandparents must have checked my room at some point. I mentally smack myself as I kept running to my home. Well of course they checked your room, how else would they have found out. I thought as I rushed into town. Surprisingly no one is outside, funny I would have expected people to be searching...oh whatever!

I finally make it to my home and rush inside. I could hear the sounds of sobbing coming from the kitchen.

I slowly make my way to kitchen. Once I reach it, Grandma Victoria comes right into view, she was at the dinner table. I wanted to say something to ease her worries but I just couldn't find the strength to speak, instead I just knock on the doorframe, which gets her attention. Once she turned around and saw it was me, she quickly gets up and runs right into me knocking the wind right out of me.

Victoria: "Where in the hell were you!"

Her muffled voice questioned as her head was hurried into my shoulder.

I needed to think of something quick...but what? I nightly stroll? That'll have to do.

Nathaniel: "I just needed to clear my head, last night was just...difficult."

I remember the argument me and Grandpa Victor had gotten into, I still feel bad for some of the things I had said to him.

Nathaniel: "Wait where's grandpa?"

I asked. Victoria moved out of my hug and was now standing on her own in front of me.

Victoria: "he's been looking for you since he found out you weren't hear...that reminds me."

She turns her back to me then quickly turns around and punches me right in the arm.

Nathaniel" ow! God damn that hurt!"

I said as I held my arm in pain.

Victoria: " do forgive me but, Don't you ever do that again! We were worried sick, we thought something terrible had happened to you, I don't know what I would do if I~"

Her words were cut short by the sound of the front door opening. And a pair of foot steps could also be heard.

Victor: "I still couldn't find him, I searched the entire town but nothing."

He said from the main hall. I could hear his foot steps getting closer and closer, and my fear of what he would say grew more and more.
And soon there he was facing me. His eyes narrowed and I could see tears threatening to leave his eyes.

Victor: "Nathaniel...where in the bloody hell were you! Do you realize I had to go to the town crier to get the word of your missing? Hmm? Spent hours outside looking for you? I would like to know what in gods name made you think it was a wise idea to leave the house at night! What if something were to happen?  I've already lost my son, I don't need to lose you too."

He said looking down. I felt a large lump in my chest. Guilt had finally found it's way into me and hurt...bad.

Victor: "I don't wish to speak to you right now so please, go to your room.now!"

He shouted scaring both me and Victoria.

I just lowered my head and walked past them up to my room.

Once I entered my room I closed the door with more strength than usual causing the door to slam shut. I only take off my shoes and quickly cover myself under the covers of my bed.

I just need some sleep. I think to myself. After a few minutes of laying in bed sleep finally consumed me.

-Bang!

I jolt up at the loud sound that rang throughout my room. I quickly get out of bed. Strange I thought I could've sworn there would some sort of storm? I thought as I looked out my window ...

Nathaniel: "strange..."

I just shrugged and turned around but I was met with a blue faced girl who was all to familiar. Emily.

Nathaniel: "What are you doing here?!"
