FUCK! There's got to be a bloody spare around here! For Christ sake Jai! I don't want to knock down the door, that would draw way too much attention I don't need right now. They'll find me in a heartbeat if I don't stay under the radar. I'm not going back to that shitty place, never. I will kill anyone who tries to send me back. Now if I could just find that goddamn spare key...

"Hey Jai!" For fuck sake! I turned around, trying to act as normal as possible. I looked the girl up and down who was walking up to me, being oblivious to the fact I'm not Jai, but rather his older twin brother who just escaped from Richmond Mental Institute for the unstable.

She had cherry red hair that that was pulled up into a high messy ponytail, carrying a backpack on her shoulder. Her ears had tiny gauges barely visible at first glance with a chain that linked up to another piercing in her cartilage on one ear. I didn't know her name and I didn't want to be too friendly or too distant because I didn't know how close Jai was to this girl.

"Have you really been gone that long you forgot where you left your key?" She looked at me, laughing and shaking her head as she bent down and pulled up a small square in the carpet to retrieve the key. Damn Jai kept some nice company that I really wanted to get to know better.

She stood back up and placed the key in my palm. "You know, I know you're dingy but now you're forgetful too? You must've hit LA pretty hard huh? Speaking of, why are you back like..," she looked at the date on her phone, "a whole month than before you told me you would be back?"

I had no clue why Jai would come back to Australia a month before his contract as an act for this little YouTube convention tour was up.

"I, uh, family. Yeah yeah, my mom she's getting really worried that she's getting a type of cancer in her lungs or something." Fuck I hope that's believable and by the sympathetic look she wore on her face, it was.

"Oh poor Gina! I hope she gets better! Send her my well wishes. I'd love to catch up but college has me crammed. I'll see you later okay! I'm glad you're home though, we've missed you jaibear." She walked off to her apartment door which wasn't but 3 doors down. She waved and then disappeared behind closed doors. I laughed a little, shaking my head at how easy this just got.

I walked in and threw the key on the counter. This wasn't too bad of a place, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, all the updated electronics you could imagine and some comfortable ass looking furniture. I pounced on the nice, soft sofa and inhaled deeply.

"Damn this feels way better then those cold ass rooms and hard fucking mattresses." I laid there so long I must've dozed off because I woke up to a knock at my door and the sun wasn't shining through anymore.

I got up and tried to find my way through the dark when I ran straight into the corner of the kitchen counter. Pain shot through my body.

"Fuck" I groaned. When I finally made it to the door I checked who it was through the peep-hole. The girl I met earlier was standing out in the hall, looking at her feet and waitng for the door to open. I unlocked the bolts and opened the door. She looked up and smiled at me. Awe how cute, she wouldn't be smiling if she knew who I really was.

"Hey! I was getting kinda hungry and was wondering if you wanted to go out and eat with me?" She shrugged, still smiling.

"Out?" I blinked.

"Yeah like to McDonald's or something?"

"NO!" I shouted in panic. She stepped back, looking slightly shocked and confused. I can't go out. Someone might recognize me. No, no, no. I snapped back not realizing we had just been standing there quietly.

"I uh, I'm not really feeling fast food." I mumbled. She probably thinks I'm out of it.

"Oh.. uh that's understandable, you've probably been living off of it for months. Being on the go and everything. If you want, you can come to the grocery store with me and I'll get spaghetti and make it for you? Like before you left." She smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. She said the last part in kind of a sad tone. Suddenly I was intrigued as to what Jai's history with this girl was.

I'm sure being at the store for a couple minutes wouldn't hurt anyone. I nodded and joined her in the hallway, locking the door behind me.
