The next morning I felt something itchy on my nose. I opened my eyes and saw Pearl. Pearl was my cat who has been waking me up since I got her. "Why so early..." I mumbled. I got up and kissed Pearl on her head thanking her for waking me up. The other girls in the dorm were still asleep, so I tried to be as quiet as I could whilst getting ready.
When I got to the great hall only a few people were already eating. I sat down at the Slytherin table and grabbed a book and some scones. The book I was reading was one of my favorites, I always read it when something big or stressful was happening. It was a way to escape from the complicated world. The whole new school thing was stressing me out a, more than I was willing to show.
"You're early." I heard a voice say while someone sat down next to me. I looked up from my book and saw Claire, who was grabbing all the food she could find, as if she hadn't eaten in days. "Good morning to you too." I joked and smirked at the sight of Claire stuffing her mouth with food. "I got our schedules, but I haven't opened them yet. Let's look at them together. I hope we have a lot classes together!" Claire said as she pulled two letters out of her robe and handed me one of them. We opened them, but found out we only had Herbology and History of Magic together. "Shit..." I mumble, this was the worst. I need Claire.
I looked at Claire who was still examining our schedules. I didn't want to bother her with my worries. I always told her about my thoughts, if I felt angry or stressed, but I knew she wasn't going to be around all the time, like she used to. She was going to have different classes and maybe even friends. So from now on I would just handle everything myself, every emotion, every doubt, every bit of pain. I was pulled out of my thoughts when Claire was done scanning our schedules and looked at me "We're going to be just fine Lelia, we still have lots of free time to spent together.". Even though I didn't tell her what I was thinking, she knew.
My first class is Herbology which I have with Claire. We walk to the classroom choose our seats in the back. We are very early so the classroom is almost empty except for a couple of Gryffindor kids. We still have 20 minutes before the class begins so Claire takes her Herbology book and starts reading it. "Don't you want to study before the class?" she asks when she notices me standing up and walking towards some Gryffindors. I sigh "No, the spicy bushes theory is very easy, it's basic knowledge if you ask me." and I continue walking to the Gryffindors.
"Hey!" I say when I arrive at the table where two Gryffindor boys are chatting. The boys look a little confused and even kind of scared. "Uh... Hey? Can we help you?" A boy speaks. The other boy just looks at me like I'm about to punch him in the face. "No I just wanted to chat, my friend..." I point at Claire who is still reading the Herbology book "Is kind of a boring nerd." I chuckle. "My name is Lelia Snape, and yours?". "Oh you are Professor Snape his daughter I've heard about you. My name is Seamus Finnigan and this is Neville Longbottom.". He heard about me? What could that be about? "So you heard about me, only bad things I hope." He laughs at my joke, but then the boy named Neville finally spoke "Oh no, not at all. All people talk about is how pretty y-", but before Neville can finish his sentence punches Seamus him in the stomach with his elbow and whispers something aggressively in his ear. What was that about... "I'm sorry, he wasn't thinking." Seamus spoke. "Oh okay, I think I'm going to head back to my friend. Nice to meet you guys, hope I see you around!" I say and turn around and start walking towards Claire. "Likewise!" Seamus says.
The lesson was pretty boring. The teacher talked and asked a couple of questions, but I wasn't really paying attention. I just drew in my sketchbook and stared at the movement of the trees outside. I tried to talk to Claire a couple times, but she was busy taking notes of whatever the teacher was talking about. After an hour the class was dismissed and I packed my bag and walked out with Claire. "You should really try to listen Lelia." She says as we walk. "I know, but everything she talks about is just so boring." I tell her "But I have to get too Charms so see you later?". "Sure, bye Lelia. Try to actually listen during Charms. See you at lunch." she smirks and walks away.
When I arrive at Charms I see Pansy, but the seats to her left and right are already taken by two boys. When she sees me she gives me an apologetic look. I sit down behind her and she turns around "I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were in this class.". "It's okay, I don't mind sitting alone." I tell her. "But you don't have to sit alone." I look at her confused before she starts yelling "Hey Draco, come sit here! There is a seat next to Lelia.". The blonde haired boy stands in the doorway, the boy who told me yesterday to 'watch my back'. He looks at Pansy and then at me. I can see his hands form into fists when his ice blue eyes meet mine.
