Dear Diary,
I'm so confused. All day, Hannah has been really weird. She's been running off every time she sees me today. I have a whole lot of new nicknames. Wanna hear some? There is...
"Spencer!" Mr Phelps yelled, which completely caught me off guard, "Could you come up to the front and do this question?" I'm currently flunking in Science, so I needed to get this correct. All I could think about was the party later.

After lunch, we all crowded into the hall, and there was Christmas music playing. All the games that the teachers had planned were very cheesy, but some were fun. We played one game that I won! It was a game called Corners. There were four pictures taped to four corners. Snowman, Bells, Tree and Santa. The teachers played music, we danced, and then when the music stopped, we all ran to different corners. Then, Mrs Stone, our headteacher, picked out a random name. The name that was pulled out would be a corner, and everyone in that corner would be out. It was me, Hannah and her best friend, Ellery, left. They both went to Bells, but I went to Tree. Bells was the one that was pulled out, so I won! I was handed a chocolate bar, that I was allowed to eat. It was small and creamy. I bit into it, and discovered that it had caramel in the middle. We played a few more games and then danced.

I spotted Hannah, in her hoodie and ripped jeans, walking with Ellery, who was dressed up in the most spectacular dress ever. The thing is, I love Ellery. I think she's beautiful and so kind, with a bit sass. She cheeks any boys who chat her up, but the best thing is, she protects Hannah from me. That's why I'm so interested in hanging around Hannah. Because I want her to hook me and Ellery up. One thing that I hated was that Hannah hadn't even tried with her outfit and just looked awful. I walked over to try and flirt with Ellery (Even though my man, Tyson told me last year never to try flirting again when I totally sent Rebecca Darrow the wrong message.) I wasn't going to even say much, just something simple. The girls were stood by the canteen counter, which had a fruit bowl on it. I knew I could use that.
"Hey, are you anywhere in this fruit bowl? Cause girl, you're a real peach," I told her, winking one of my bright blue eyes. She rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Hey, leave us alone," Hannah told me, but I replied,
"I wasn't even talking to you, I was talking to Ellery, so go away,"
Ellery looked shocked. I don't think she knew what to say. Even though it was quite obvious who she should go with. Don't make me say it.

"Spencer's acting crazy. What's up with him?" I overheard Ellery and Hannah talking from a distance. Couldn't they see that I wanted to go out with Ellery? I decided that as I hadn't made it abundantly clear, I should just ask her out myself.
"Hey girls, what's up?" I asked them, not wanting it to be that obvious at first.
"What do you want, Spencer?" Hannah asked me, but Ellery was smiling! Ellery smiled at me! And it was a proper smile as well, with her eyes.
"Well, Ellery, I wanted to ask you something. I always think about you. So I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date with me?" Wow. It felt so great to get that off my chest. Ellery looked at me like I was growing a second head. Hannah rolled her eyes at me, and then looked worried.
"Um, well, um," I could tell that she was trying to stall. Just give me an answer now, "Maybe we could meet up for a coffee after school. Just a coffee. Nothing else,"

Yes! I got myself a date with my crush! Well, Ellery said that it was just a a coffee, but I can tell that that's girl language for 'it's a date'.

Dear Diary,
I've got to go now. I'm going on a date with Ellery! Ok bye!
