Thalia Tauwell was a girl who grew up in a small town in the UK in a small family with the majority of her family living north of the country. She grew up being raised by her mother with the help of her grandparents as her father unfortunately wasn't up for family life. This was very difficult fo her mother, raising Thalia and her brother, Harlow, whilst working multiple Jobs to keep them afloat. They would spend any time that wasn't in school or an activity at their grandparents until their mother would finish work. Thalia and her brother never went without thanks to the support they had around them, although they were young, Thalia and Harlow never failed to recognise how hard their mother worked and did what they could chores wise to help her out.
Thalia and Harlow came from a background of sports, Thalia doing ballet from the age of two until 15, karate between the age of 7 til 12 as well as a talented runner. As a child she would alway be tumbling off sofas, full of energy until she joined gymnastics later on. Harlow followed a football path, with karate and tennis to follow up. They were talented children and people knew they had potential. As they grew, they grew out of their hobbies as school picked up and sooner or later, they were both in secondary school.
Thalia was in year 9, 13 years old, with Harlow being two years younger, he was eleven. Growing up around a very sheltered environment, Thalia was almost asleep to the reality of the world, constantly unconditionally happy, full of motivation, energy. She was full of life as a child should be. A regular little girl, she wasn't insanely pretty, her brown hair could be considered slightly dull at times, hazel eyes with a dash of green, fair skin, she blended in. However she had a smile, not just any smile, she could light up Any room at any time. Thalia had that effect on people, her smile was contagious.
She was coming up to autumn half term in a week or so after being at school for nearly two months since the summer holiday and Thalia and her friends couldn't wait. They had a little group chat they used to speak to each other out of school on regularly, with the girls being quite a close knit group of friends, they got on well.
Thalia was close with a few people in school, she wasn't considered popular but she wasn't lonely, she had a close mate, fish. That's what they called each other since year 7 and it stuck. She had friends other than fish , but no relationship quite the same, they were inseparable.
The chat consisted of about 8 girls in Thalia's form, all that she was familiar with, got on well with and would sometimes meet out of school. They would usually just talk about the usual gossip in the year or about how a teacher had kicked off that day for whatever reason but within the next week , that was about to change forever .
