Chapter 17: Internships (pt.2)

Kacchan and I talked every night. Telling each other what we learned, what we improved on, and what we're feeling. One time we did a big chat with the entire Bakusquad. It was so much fun. But Hawks came in and told me to go to bed. It was like that for a couple days until one day.

I woke up in the night with a knot in my stomach. I ran to the bathroom and hurled, being careful to keep my hair out of the way. I spat in the toilet. My body was sore and tired, but that wasn't the reason I threw up. My stomach lunged again, and yesterdays' meals erupted from my throat. I stayed hunched over for a while before standing up and making my way to the kitchen. I made myself some mint tea and grabbed a box of crackers to suck up the acid in me. I turned on the tv and the news channel popped up. I dropped my mug on the floor, the china shattered, spilling the contents all over.

A small gasp escaped my lips when my phone buzzed, startling me. I opened it and saw a text message from Izuku. It was his location. The bad feeling in my stomach came back tenfold. I tried to call him but he didn't pick up. I noticed that he sent it to everyone in the groupchat. It wasn't just me. I looked back up at the tv. Was he there? In danger? Was this the feeling?

'Go.' Kitty urged me.

Not caring that I was still in my pyjamas and I didn't have any shoes on. I opened the balcony door and jumped, spreading my wings and catching myself at the last second. I sped off towards Hosu city. I was going almost as fast as Hawks so that put me at maybe 670.

I landed on the tarmac with an earth shattering amount of force. 'You almost broke your neko-neko-kneecaps.' Kitty said. I ignored her. Half the things she says I don't understand. 'It was a big deal in 2020.'

I looked around and saw a building on fire. Inside I could hear screams. I switched completely into Angles form (so I wouldn't frighten them into thinking I was a villain). My wings turned white and grew slightly larger. My ears pointed into an elfic shape. My hair turned needle straight and grew longer. A long white sheer skirt with a golden band on the waist covered my legs. My top was a white bandeau that wrapped around my neck. My feet were naked except these strands of pearls curled around my ankles. And on my head was a small diadem that could trap moonlight. Don't ask, I don't know how Angel got it. After I had finished my transformation I raced into the burning building.

"Hey kid! What are you doing?" I ignored the citizens' calls and jumped into the flames.

I followed the sound of screams and soon came upon a childs room. Smoke filled my lungs as I looked around. Since I was in Angle's form I couldn't summon any demons to withdraw the fire but I walked in fearlessly.

"Where are you?!" I called out. A cough made me turn. In the corner holding a baby was a small girl. She couldn't have been older than four. My heart broke at the sight.

"Hey." I greeted her with a smile. "I'm gonna get you two out of here." I pushed her onto my back and cradled the baby in my arms. Running through the hot fire that singed my wings quickly. I told her not to talk anymore until we got outside. And to hold her breath for as long as she could. We broke through the fire and landed on the ground. I went a little further and put her and the baby in my arms down. "Was there anyone else in that building?" I asked her.

She shook her head. "Mommy and Daddy we're already outside. But they couldn't come back for us..."

"Your Mommy and Daddy are somewhere in this crowd. Let's go find them." After a few minutes of searching I found her family. After the parents had thanked me profusely, attempting to dodge around cameras, and an anchor asking me what my hero name was. I was back on my journey to find Izuku. I turned out of my transformation and continued on foot. I followed my phone to where Deku was to be. On the way I ran into Todoroki.

"What are you doing here?" We asked at the same time.

"Midoriya-"

"Yeah, I know." I interrupted him.

"Who-"

"Hawks." interruption strikes again. "Let's focus on Izuku."

We turned a corner and the sight that lay before my eyes infuriated me. Iida was on the ground next to some hero I didn't know, Izuku was being attacked by some hobo looking villian with razor sharp teeth, a sword, and a disgustingly long tongue. I put up a barrier around Midoriya and Shoto shot ice at the villian, forcing him to jump back.

"Who are you?" I demanded.

"Did you just wake up?" He chuckled, staring at my silk romper.

"Actually yes. I woke up vomiting because my mother cat instincts were tingling so much it made me sick." As I said this I transformed into Kitty's form. My eyes glowed a soft red. "You ruined my cat nap." I tisked disapprovingly. "And Iida what the heck man? I know this crazy psycho ended your brothers' career as a hero, but did you have to stoop so low as to try and kill the man?" I flicked him on the forehead. "What were you thinking? And you Deku!" I stomped over to him. "Don't ever make me worry like that again!" I flicked him on the forehead as well. "I thought something bad was happening."

"Something bad is happening." Shoto injected.

"Huh?" I looked back over to the villain. "Oh right, sorry, who are you again?"

"His name is Stain. He's the hero killer."

"Ah. I see." I walked up to him, and flicked his forehead. "Astraea no!" Iida wailed.

"Shut up! You're still in trouble! And Stain..."

'His real name is Chizome Akaguro.' Kitty and Angle whispered in my mind.

"Or should I say Chizome Akaguro, what happened to you?"

"What are you talking about, girlie?" He hissed.

"I remember you. Slightly... tell me if this sounds familiar to you. Luna Ophelia Viscoff."

"Top Secret?"

I had no idea what he was talking about but I nodded my head. "No." My smile wavered. "How could you? You joined the heroes?! After everything they didn't do for you?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You should be ashamed!" He swung his sword at me and I flipped out of the way. I used Kitty's power to summon my black dual swords.

"Why should I be ashamed?" Our swords clashed, sparks igniting off the metals. He managed to get a swipe at the bottom of my neck and I winced. Falling on the asphalt. 'He paralyzed us.' Kitty growled in my ear.

Midoriya pulled me behind him before Stain could cut me into pieces. "What are you guys talking about?" I gave him an unamused look. He shook his head. "Never mind you can't talk." My head was throbbing, I hit it pretty hard. I was seeing double. Everything was blurry and voices mumbled together. After a while I was able to move my fingers, and soon enough my whole body. I slowly got up.

"You messed with the wrong 'girlie'."

I spat out dangerously. Blood dripped down my face. Making me quite scary looking. My face was paler than usual. My right eye was a brilliant red, while the other was a kaleidoscope of colors. I stood straighter cracking my knuckles loudly. I mixed my powers. More so than when I was at the USJ. Red and silver power raced up in torrents. I stomped on the ground and a giant red glyph appeared under my foot. I screamed loudly in pain. Horns grew out of my skull. My wings we're a mix of white and black feathers. Soon they tripled and I had six wings. I was reaching for all of Kitty's and Angel's power, mixing it together in a giant cauldron. It burned.

I set my hard gaze on him. Leaping at him with full force I swung at him. He barely dodged my swords. We danced dangerously. Our swords clashed violently. I jumped off the asphalt ricocheting from the walls of the side buildings before swiping at his back. The three of us were getting angrier at Stain. Black dots swam around my eyes until I could no longer see. My swords we're still fighting Stain's, I don't know how I was still fighting him without being able to see but I was. And I wouldn't stop fighting him until I passed out from pain.
