The Plague

Chapter 7

State's Health Status: Extremely Poor

I hear something in the kitchen, I see a light in the distance. "What the?" I whisper. I look around and then smell something, I quietly move towards the light. I made it to the light, I looked into the kitchen and see one of the Plague Doctors. "Oh, my-" I was interrupted hearing Preston whisper, "Stay down." I lay down and start to crawl into the kitchen, "All the blood that splattered on me is still on my arms?" I whisper. The man stopped for a moment. It made me think that I was gonna die. But he went back to work, I see his knife laying on the ground. "I should take that," I say quietly. The man said, "One more finishing touch and there you go!" He turns around and see's me reaching for the knife, blood was all over him and something else. I picked up the knife and stood up as fast as I could, I pay close attention to see what that thing was beside the blood. I ask him, "What's that on your shoulder?" He replied calmly, "Just some intestines. And uh can I have my knife back?" The man slowly starts to approach me as he said it. "No." I look him in his pitch black eyes. He starts to run towards me, I close my eyes and raise the knife and all I hear from the man is, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" I open my eyes seeing that he fell to the ground with a blood puddle starting to surround him. "Please help me." He said. I take the knife out of his gut and stab him in his throat making him choke on his own blood. Preston peeks around the corner and says, "Is he dead?" I reply, "I'm sure." I look up and see on the kitchen counter a man who was torn apart. I saw his ribs and his intestines. "O-oh my God!" I say. I turn around and throw up. I turned around again looking at the dead man on the counter and see his blood slowly dripping from his hand. Preston says, "I'm not sleeping tonight." I turn around and look at the doorway. "There's a blood trail, he was dragged into this house"...
