They all helped to pick up the debris from the carnage, and tied up Hartley. They separated her from the scepter; and  planned to return it to the museum.

Footsteps were heard thundering towards them from behind. Raven raised an arrow; but quickly lowered it.

It was the VKs, with Dude as their guide.

"Whoa! What did we miss?" Asked Jay, with a confused expression.

"Doug!" Cried Evie, running to him and throwing her arms around him.

"Evie, thank Goodness!" Gasped Doug.

"My Gosh, what happened to you? Did you help fight Hartley?" She demanded, gesturing to his ripped jacket and bruised cheek.

"No. I was stalling this one." He stated, pointing at Raven.

"Raven! What did you do?" She cried.

"They tied me up, trying to keep me safe (she used finger quotes). I needed to help Carlos-- who went after Hartley ALONE, like an idiot!" She defended herself.

"In that case," Evie slapped Doug on the arm, and did the same to Carlos, "You had it coming."

"Hey, notice Ben's eye is all puffy... it wasn't just me." Doug defended.

"Thanks, Doug." Retorted Ben, sarcastically.

"Let me guess, you couldn't charm her?" Asked Mal to Ben.

Ben shook his head and shrugged, causing Mal to chuckle slightly.

"Evie, I need to talk to you for a minute," requested Doug.

Doug took her to a spot away from the others.

"Apparently, I'm truly my father's son. I know that not telling you is the dopiest thing I could've done. I've known it for a long time, but I had trouble saying it out loud. You are the most beautiful, sweet, talented, caring, smart, and independent girl--I have ever known. Why you chose me, I'll never know. But it needs to be said..."

He stared at the gorgeous semi-evil princess, for a moment.

"Um..." She chuckled, "What needed to be said?"

Doug took Evie's face in his hands and fought all of his inhibitions and kissed her fully, and without restraint. The kiss was fireworks, and butterflies, and all of the things that she made him feel every day.

"Mmm..." she hummed, "Wow." Now smiling brightly at her boyfriend and resting her forehead on his.

"Evie, I love you. I know that this is true love." Mused Doug.

"Oh, Doug, I love you too. I wanted to say it for so long. I was afraid that you were too good, or maybe I was just too bad for it to be true." She admitted.

"That's ridiculous. You are the epitome of good, and the bright spot of Auradon. You are my true love." Declared Doug.

"And you're mine." She replied.

The couple eventually rejoined the others, as they were explaining to the VKs how Hartley was defeated.

"So, it was Carlos' tech, and Isle tricks; and Raven's Neverland herbs in the end that actually stopped Hartley..." Ben recapped.

"The hood rat and the pixie saved Auradon." Laughed Jay, incredulously.

And Doug finally found a use for the wheel barrel. They sat Hartley in it and used it to take her to the Auradon Prison, to stay until she was sentenced.

Hartley was put into a holding cell, still in a deep state of sleep.
