The mansion is on fire?!

"Fuck," I hear Alejandro curse under his breath. He then peers over at me, but I refused to make eye contact with him.

"Get this gringo out of here. I am not done questioning him. We are moving to my beach house. And find out what is causing this fire." Alejandro order the man. He responds with a quick nod as he calls in a few other guys to take Mason away. I stayed crumpled to the floor, feeling helpless as he is taken away from me.

Suddenly, I feel my body being lifted in the air and I was strung over a muscular shoulder. I felt pain in my torso as his hard shoulder blade dug into my gut.

"Alejandro put me down!" I groaned as tears pricked my eyes.

He didn't respond and just ignored me as we headed up the steps and out of the basement. Every step he took just dug deeper into me shooting shockwaves of pain throughout my stomach.

"Alejandro...please" i begged once more and once we reached the top of the staircase he let out a huff of annoyance and finally let me down but kept a firm grip on my forearm.

"Move quickly.." he demanded with an annoyed tone. I just nodded not wanting to anger him more.

As we made our way down the hall the smell of smoke and fumes entered my nostrils as I let out a Hefty cough almost choking on my own spit. I moved my head away from it as I tried to breathe for fresh air.

"Cover your mouth so you don't breathe in the smoke." He demanded as he pulled me along.

Yeah easy for you to say since this is all there is in this area. I thought angrily as we walked faster down the hall and made a left turn. While walking around the corner we hit a road block as a bunch of flames blocked the path we wanted to walk through.

My eyes peered up at the ceiling as I saw the flames took residence licking the walls around us.

"Shit. We will have to go out on the balcony." He says before letting out a strangled cough. He then proceeded to tug my arm in the opposite direction of the flames. As we scurried down the hallway I peeked out the windows and see a hoard of people from the party ran outside the hacienda in fear.

At the corner of my eye I see a shadow walk behind us and down another hall and I stall in my tracks and look in the direction the shadow went. Alejandro tried to yank on my wrist but I was planted to my spot.

"What are you doing?! We have to get out!" I hear him yell in my ear.

"But Alejandro, I could have sworn I saw someone-"

He forced me to look at him as he stares with a fierce expression. "I don't care! If they want to burn to a crisp then let them. Now come on-"

He stops mid sentence as he lets out a groan and looses his grip on my wrist and falls to the ground with a thud.

"Alejandro?" I ask as sweat drips down my brow.

He doesn't respond and remains motionless on the ground. He's unconscious? I then see the blood running from his head telling me that he was struck on the head by something.

I then see a shadow hovering over me as I start to walk backwards. I trip over my feet as I fall back and fall on my butt and watch as the shadow draws nearer.

"Stay back!" I shriek.

A deep chuckle rumbles as a figure was almost visible. "Now why would I do that?" A thick Spanish accent says in English as he walks into view. I was now staring back at a pair of deep brown eyes and shutter in horror.

Joaquín.

"And after all I did to prepare for me to get you?" He trails off in Spanish as he lowers himself down to my level with a twinkle in his eye.

My eyes open wide in horror. "I-it was you?! You started the fire.." I said just barely above a whisper.

"Of course it was me.." he then sends me a curious look as he tilts his head. "Who else do you think ?"

"I-I don't know...I would assume that Alejandro has a lot of enemies.." I say looking away.

Actually I was hoping that it was Gio...I was hoping that was his signal stating he was coming to get me. Funny how I'm always wrong with my intuition.

He scoffs. "Yes that's true...now common. " he says as he grabs my forearm. "We wouldn't want my cousin waking up to me taking you away now would we?"

He then proceeds to take me down the way that Alejandro was as we made our way to the balcony.

Giovanni POV

Dammit, Dammit! What the fuck is going on?!  I wiped the sweat from my brow as I took my mask off. Not being able to breath any longer in it from the smoked.

I walked down the smoky hallway hoping to find my way out and possibly find Mason and Calina along the way. Calina. I hope she is okay.

I don't understand. One minute everything was fine and the next all the guests were being told to evacuate because a huge fire started on the left side of the mansion.

There is no way that this was a mere coincidence that fire happened. This was planned...but the question is by who?

I suddenly heard some voices coming my way as I decided to blend in with the walls the smoke covering me.

I squinted my eyes and could see two men holding on to a pretty beaten up guy with blonde hair. Mason.

As they walked past me I slowly creeped up behind them and took out my gun. Before they could turn around they were both on the ground laying there lifeless in a pool of blood.

Mason let's out a groan as he falls to the ground. He looks up at me and chuckles.

"You look like shit." I stated plainly as I help him up.

"Yeah well you should see the other guy," he says with a rough voice.

"Can you stand on your own?" I asked not wanting to get into what happened.

"Yeah, just give me a second," he says.

"Well by the looks of things we don't have a second to spare. The house could be coming down any second and I have no idea where Calina is." I say a little frustrated.

He groans in response. "I saw her just a little bit ago with that prick. My guess is he took her out of the mansion," he says leaning against the wall.

"Fuck..." I curse under my breath.

"Okay we need to fall back for now and think of another plan. Let's go."

He nods before slowly following me out the front door of the mansion. Not two minutes later the whole building was engulfed in flames.
