Boruto, Sarada and Mitsuki were walking through the streets of Konoha. Of course, they weren't alone. After that whole meeting with his grandfather, it was decided that they were going to be staying at the Hokage's house for the time being.

Jiraiya and Minato were both escorting them there, just to make sure there wouldn't be any funny business going around. "I still can't believe you decided to let them live with you." the sannin said, hands on the back of his head. "Are you sure Kushina will be alright with this, Minato?"

"No worries, I'm sure she'll understand." he said. "And with this, we can keep a better eye on them."

Sarada was looking around the village. It all felt so different but it was still the same Konoha she grew up in. "Hey guys," she said to her friends. "Konoha looks so different, ne?"

Mitsuki nodded. "It is most likely because there are many things that aren't built or established yet."

"Dattebasa, everything seems so weird in the past."

Once they reached Minato's house, they entered and were greeted by a red haired woman with matching red eyes. She came from the kitchen and was wearing an apron so they could only guess she was cooking something up. "Welcome home, anata I--"

She paused when she saw the three children. "Who are these kids?"

Minato took his wife's hand and spoke. "Well, these kids claim that they are from the future and they had the proper evidence to show and I decided for them to stay here until we find a way to send them home."

She just blinked a few time and her eyes went from her husband to Jiraiya who just shrugged in response and then to the children. Boruto took a step forward, still that annoying smile on his face and waved hello. "Hey there, Granny Kushina!"

This seemed to break the ice and Kushina seemed to flare up and huffed. "Who are you callin' old, dattebane?! I'm still in my 20s!"

All the others sweat dropped but after making the usual introductions, the current jinchuriki was able to accept this convuluted story.

She looked at the three children again. Her eyes stopped at the blond boy with strikingly blue eyes whose name, she found out, was Boruto.

"So," she started. "He-he's our grandson?"

When both Botuto and Minato nodded in response, she slowly walked up to him.

Kushina didn't dare blink as if he would disappear if she did. Her hand was on her still flat stomach.

She crouched down to meet the boy's eyes that looked oh so similar to the man she loves. The jinchuriki smiled at him and spoke. "Hi, Boruto, I'm glad to meet you, dattebane."

The said boy blinked once, maybe twice as he slowly and awkwardly walked up to her and hugged her. "I can't believe I'm finally getting to meet you," he looked at Minato. "Both of you, dattebasa."

Minato tried to ignore the meaning behind his words, as he watched the scene in front of him unfold, but something was off. What exactly happens in the future?

After that meeting, they all went to the table, where Kushina started preparing for the additional guests.

They all ate together and honestly, it was a great meal.

Some time passed and Team 7 were sitting outside and looking out at the village.

"Dattebasa, the past isn't so bad now, huh?"
