"I can't help but love you." She said through a waterfall of tears. "Even though I tr- try not too." She whispered and wiped away the tears and felt the world's darkness overtake her. "I can't help... but want you... Xander." Her sniffles were drowned out by the sorrow and pain. Her voice was cut out by her cries of hurt and loss. No will to pray. No thought for even sleeping.
The clouds of the sky covered the sun like the unbearable darkness hid her happiness. They stole it from her. The gods stole it from her.
Every night she would sit by her window and glance out into the black abyss. Hoping that someone will find her. If not, she was trapped in her own cage until the heavens came crashing down.
"I'm already trapped. What good is it to hope for something that will take an eternity?" Her hands traced the cracks in the walls. They were broken and torn like her. The castle was a representation of Asteria's feelings. The more she hurt, the more it would crack. The more she crumbled, the more it fell.
She sat in the corner and quietly whispered to herself. No desire to use her 'godly gift.'
"Who else wants to fight me?" He laughed. "You?" He pointed at a tall buff man.
"Sure?"
"Of course... you aren't a dwarf are you?"
"I'm a half breed. Dwarf and giant. You'll be crushed into oblivion."
"Oh! How did you're parents even conceive- never mind." He brushed his thoughts off to the side and stared at the man. "Then, please, let us fight." He chuckled and playfully bowed.
"You're going to regret this."
"First person to have their arm cut off?"
"Coward." The buff man smiled.
"Let's fight, big man."
The two contestants stood opposite each other. The buff man wielded a giant mace, while the other wielded a mere sword.
"Let the match... begin!" Immediately, the buff man flung himself at him. Mace headed straight for his head.
"You see, my friends, when a big man comes for you, you dodge him and trip him up." The man stepped to the side and placed his foot up. The big man ran straight forward like a bull and crashed into the fence, completely shattering it.
"What did I say?" The audience laughed and clapped their hands.
"You'll pay for that!" The buff man spat and charged once more. The man stay put and smiled to himself.
"This is where I let him hit me, because I simply feel bad." The buff man landed a single punch on him and started to jeer.
A small trickle of blood drove down his forehead. The man clicked his sword. Flames erupted out of it. They danced and raged.
"Who are you?" The buff man turned around and stared at the flaming sword.
The man flashed his eyes dangerously and chuckled to himself.
"I'm Kadir. The half breed." Kadir lunged forward and sliced straight through.
"50 gold pieces for you Kadir! Great job."
"I feel sorry for him , Udgar, poor man had his arm amputated. Kinda deserved it though." Kadir snorted and chugged down his glass of beer. He wiped away the foam and patted Udgar on the back.
"Thanks barkeep! I'll return tomorrow for some more.""Good day, Kadir."
"Father!! Father!" A little boy called.
"Hello, my son." Kadir nodded at him.
