Ok I don't know what's supposed to make me happier, that I'm writing my last paper or that my exams went pretty well up to this point.
But then again..it's the last day and I haven't even spoken to the dude.

Ms Ramathe snaps me out of my thoughts, slamming the thick math exam paper on to my desk while reading the exam rules. It's hard to not be aware of her presence, she's a fierce human. Rumour has it,she hasn't always had an easy life. She had a child at an early age and had to fight for everything she owns. The teachers respect her too.
You'd be surprised at how much students know about teachers. When we run out of things to talk about we talk about them. I know-

..

"Ten minutes remaining," a voice says and I immediately realise it's Ms Ramathe's.
What? already?!! I swear math will be the death of me. Doesn't help that I've been trying to solve this equation for the last ten minutes really. It's worth five marks. This is math.. everything counts.
Finally,some light.
When I stepped into this room I was pushing for an A, now,I'd like to just go to the next grade. I'll try for the A next year.
"Okay grade tens, time's up. Put your pens down and hand over your answer sheets," she says and moves on to take my paper. I can't help but notice the smile she gives me when I give her the answer sheet. I'm not even going to explain that.
"Enjoy your holidays. Be safe. And I hope you wrote wrong answers,it makes marking easier," she says in that ' I'm joking but I'm low-key serious ' tone and the class erupts into laughter.

We're free!!! Well atleast for the month. Somehow December holidays are the longest and nicest. I don't know, could be the summer feel or the festivities. But before all that you have to endure the frustrating period where you wait for your results and hope that you're going to the next grade.
Ok where are my friends? This is frustrating, why would they go anywhere without telling me!
"Hi," a familiar voice speaks from behind me, instantly melting my annoyance. I can't stop my eyes from widening,or my jaw from dropping when I notice his hand on my shoulder. He seems to notice it and awkwardly removes it.He's here and he's real. He's speaking to me. The place where he touched me is still burning.
I should say something now. Brain!!!! Anything!!
"Hloni, how was the exam?,"he asks with a confused face- I'm assuming it's  because of the look on mine.
Okay something should be coming out of my mouth now! I've dreamt of this day forever- and I've planned for it only I can't seem to find my voice. Why is this happening?!!!! He must think I'm a weirdo. Just when he seems like he's about to leave my voice seems to rush back inside my body.
"Hi,"it comes out breathlessly. It feels like the air has left my lungs, but I'm outside, literally surrounded by trees and the sun and ...why am I thinking about photosynthesis in the most important moment of my highschool life?

I focus my attention back at him. He looks like he's waiting for a response. What was that thing he asked again?
Oh "the exam was..well it was math. How was it for you?," I say and he chuckles lightly. My heart is jumping up and down. I made him laugh- or chuckle. The point is he's showing that perfect smile , the one I've dreamt of one too many times, and he's showing it because of me!

That's it! I've earned extra points. You go girl! I mentally pat myself on the back.
Ok I'm getting way ahead of myself here.
"It was good. I mean it was math," he says repeating my words seemingly more nervous than he was five minutes ago.
Silence..
"Do you have a Facebook account?,"he finally asks and looks directly into my eyes.
No, of course I don't have a Facebook account.
"Yes," but I can create one.
"Oh..do you use your real name? I can send you a friend request".
"Sure," I say more composed than when this conversation started. I'm feeding on his nervousness.
"Okay I guess we'll talk online then yeah?".
"Yes," I say and smile, still wearing my cool, calm facade.
"Ok then enjoy your holidays Hlohonolofatso," he says and smiles. I should tell him he has the most beautiful smile I've ever seen.
"Enjoy yours too Thato,"
He turns to leave but stops after barely taking three steps. He doesn't turn to look my way. It's like he's battling his next move. He seems to make a decision and rushes over, then plants a kiss on my  left cheek, smiles then continues walking.
Brain. Blank. Surroundings. Blur. What just happened? The voice in my head mimics Mel B's voice.
I'm brought back to planet Earth by my friends' million questions. Where were they anyway? I can't help but be grateful that they weren't here with me, I know Thato wouldn't have spoken to me if they were.
"Hloni, we disappear for two minutes and you're already making out with the dude?"- Mpho
That wasn't making out. That was better than making out, it was straight out of a movie. And Thato's not even out of the school yard yet. He can probably hear them screaming, SHM.
"Hloni come on say something!,"that's Lebo, she's begging. I can't wipe the stupid smile off my face.
"Well he kissed me and walked," I say . I know they saw that and they want more details but I'm not willing to share. I want to treasure every second of our interaction. Which is why I want it to be my memory. Only mine.
"And? That's it?," Mpho says and gives an annoyed look. I mentally give her an eye-roll.
You're not ruining my day..not today. I look her way and shrug. I still have that stupid smile on my face. Lebo walk towards the gate and we follow her, heading home.

First thing when I get home, create a Facebook account..
