The Guardian's Tale (AOT fanfiction)

-Assault on Stohess-

I slowly got up and winced as soon as my foot hit the ground. Today was the day that Eren, the Scout regiment and I were called to the capital to decide our fate. As I was about to get undressed, I heard a knock on my door.

"C-Come in..." I said, too weak to get up.

"Hey there princess." Reiner grinned as he walked through the door and leaned on the door frame. "Your wound didn't heal yet ?"

"No..." I gave him a weak smile. "You see...my Titan works differently...I have to get used to it before I start healing myself....anyway can I help you with something ?" I asked as I opened my closet.

"I was just wondering something....What is Commander Erwin to you?" He asked as he blushed and looked away.

I grinned and hid myself behind my closet door.

"Well..." I said as I started changing. "The Commander raised me and my brother since I was 5 years old and he was 10." I tossed my shirt onto the bed and heard him gasp. "He's like a father to me." I closed the closet door and revealed my fully clothed figure.

"Yesterday when you said I was the a-..." He stopped and walked closer to me. "I wanted to give you something." He leaned in closer and kissed me again.

"SHRIMP YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE !" Levi yelled.

"S-Sorry Levi-Sama...I mean Captain." I apologized, blushing and looking down after Reiner and I pulled away.

I sat next to Jean, who was playing as Eren's decoy. I placed a hand on my stomach and winced. God damn thing still hadn't healed yet. 

"Why do I have to sit in here ?" I mumbled.

"Cuz they couldn't find anyone with glowing golden eyes and a natural white strand dumbass." Jean replied. "Not to mention they couldn't find anyone as small as you. Heh you're shorter than Captain Levi."

"You're lucky I can't strangle you right now horse face." I growled as I heard a knock on the window. "Alright time to head out...don't get in trouble." I grinned as I opened the carriage window.

"Yeah....you either. Don't join him too soon." He said, pointing at Marco's handkerchief around my arm.

I gave him a small nod and jumped out of the window, hoping no one noticed. Using my ODM gear, I got onto a rooftop and started running from roof to roof until I found what I wanted. As soon as I spotted Mikasa, Armin, Eren and Annie, I jumped down and landed in front of them and winced. God I should've known that would hurt my stomach too.

"Yuki !" Armin exclaimed in a hushed tone. "Are you alright ? You still haven't healed yet what the hell were you thinking ?!"

"Well erh..." I slowly got up. "I wasn't necessarily thinking." I turned to Annie and gave her a small nod. "Nice to see you again."

She gave me a small nod back and we started walking. I stumbled as Armin explained to ANnie why he chose to go over the wall here and now. Mikasa held out her arm to steady me but I shook my head and smiled at her. Soon enough, Armin spotted the entrance to the underground and we all ran to it. Eren, Armin, Mikasa and I headed down, thinking Annie would follow but she just stood there, looking at us. I looked at Armin as Eren tried to lure her down. This wasn't going to work was it ? 

"QUIT BEING STUPID ! JUST GET DOWN HERE AND STOP SCREWING AROUND !" Eren yelled at Annie.

"Eren don't shout." Mikasa said sharply.

"I'm sure it's fine Mikasa." Annie spoke up. "Because for some reason, this whole area...has been completely deserted for awhile." She took a small pause as I clenched my fist. "Man...that really hurts. At what point did you start looking at me that way...Armin ?" She asked as Armin looked at her with fear in his eyes, holding a flare gun behind his back with a shaking hand. 

"Annie...why did you have Marco's ODM gear ?" Armin asked and my eyes widened and Annie looked away.

This was the missing piece. I knew Marco's death wasn't an accident. His ODM gear had somehow been taken off cleanly and Titans would never bother to do that. Not to mention that Marco would never be that careless. I clenched my fist tighter as I could feel fire rumbling in my chest. She killed him. She was the bitch who took Marco away from us.

"It had all the same scrapes and bumps...I could tell because I'd helped him do maintenance on it." Armin continued. 

"Yes...I found it and took it." She replied.

"THAT'S BULLSHIT AND YOU KNOW IT !" I yelled as my eyes turned bright red and fire slowly seeped out of my mouth. "YOU DIDN'T FIND IT ! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO TOOK IT OFF OF HIM !" My shoulders tensed up. "MARCO, ORUO, PETRA, ELD, GUNTHER ! THAT WAS ALL YOU !"

Eren placed his hand on my arm in an attempt to calm me down but all I wanted to do was kill her. Mikasa had to wrap her arms around me to stop me from lunging at Annie and killing her. I listened as Armin confronted Annie, asking her if she killed the 2 Titans that were captured alive. More fire seeped out of the corners of my mouth. I wanted to kill her, burn her to ashes for what she had done. Eren and Armin were still trying to urge her down the stairs, in hopes that they were wrong about her being the female Titan.

"Enough." Mikasa said as she let go of me. "I can't listen to any more of this. It's pointless." She said coldly as she removed her coat and pulled out a sword. "I'm going to carve you up again...female Titan."

Annie just stood there for a second, speechless as the wind played with her hair. Then, she started laughing and I gritted my teeth.

"Amin...it's nice I could be a good person for you." She immediately went back to her serious self. "For now, you've won your bet. But...my bet...begins now !"

As she was about to bite her finger, I grabbed the flare gun from Armin and fired it. Citizens came out of their hiding spots, grabbed Annie and gagged her. I gasped in shock as a small blade came out of the ring she was wearing. 

"GET DOWN NOW !" I grabbed Eren and Armin and pulled them further underground.

Surely enough, as I looked back, a huge bolt of yellow lightning had struck. The fire seeping from my mouth became hotter as I finally got the answer I wanted. It really WAS her.
