One day 16 years ago was a girl named Joy Marie Rogers. This girl wasn't just any girl this girl was the wife of the one and only big bad hybrid, Niklaus Mikaelson. Now she loved the Mikaelsons very much that was until the original witch, Esther Mikaelson decided it was time to bring herself back from the other side. Once she woke up in the land of the living she immediately went to the newest member of the Mikaelsons and told her that if she ever showed her face at the Mikaelsons house ever again that she would kill her brother, Steve Rogers, and kill her. So with that being said Joy said that she would leave and never show her face to the Mikaelsons as long as she got to write them a note saying she was leaving and never coming back and that Esther would soon help her fake her death so that the Mikaelsons would believe that she was gone forever.

Dear Mikaelson Family,
I'm sorry to say this but my time with you has to be made short i truly love all of you so dont think me leaving has anything to do with you it doesn't i just cant be here at the moment. I wish things were different but they are not. So this is me saying goodbye forever dont try to find me just know I'm safe and that no matter what you guys do there is nothing that could change my mind from doing this. I'm extremely sorry to leave like this but its what needs to be done. I love you guys Always and Forever.

With that she packed her bags put them in the car and headed to New Jersey where she would live with her brother. Her and Esther had made the agreement that within the next week she would spread the news that Joy had gotten into a terrible accident and that she had passed away. Once the Mikaelsons heard this they were extremely sad they just lost a member of their family if only they had known that Joy was alive this whole time. But it was even more harder for Joy because that morning she left she found out the most wonderful news ever that she Joy Marie Rogers would be giving birth to the newest members of the Mikaelson family.
Nine months down the road on June 17, 2005 Joy Marie Rogers gave birth to 2 beautiful twin girls and named them Melinda Faith Mikaelson and Nikol Grace Mikaelson.
