Chapter Four

Y/n's Pov 

I feel like Eli is hiding something... Usually, back in the past, his powers were in his control but just now... Are... Are his powers too strong for him..? I snap out of my thoughts as I bumped into someone. "O-oh I'm so sorry-" I say in sync with the person I bumped into but pause as I look up and see Hans. "H-hans? I thought you were already in the ballroom?" I ask as he offers his hand to help me up which I take. "I just went for a quick walk is all Lady...?" He trails off not knowing my last name. "Oh! I'm Y/n L/n but I have no royalty to my name hehe.." I trail off at the end because usually people laugh at me and assume the worst because I'm the daughter of a maid.

"Oh, I thought you were royal seeing as you don't dress up like a maid or anything of the sort. The dress you're wearing makes it look as though you are" Hans compliments and I become flustered by the genuine truth in his voice. "T-that's only for t-today! I u-usually wear normal clothes seeing as I am best friends with Eli and Anna."

"Oh, I didn't realize you were so close with the king and princess" Hans has a slightly shocked expression. "Y-yeah, I should go now. It was nice to see you prince Hans of The Southern Isles" I bid goodbye and continue my way to the ball. As I walk in I see Eli standing by himself. Shouldn't Anna be up there as well or am I late? I look at the clock and see I am in fact late. That explains it... I walk up to Eli.

"Hey," I say as I walk up to where he is and by the look on his face, I can see he looks guilty. Is it about what happened in our childhood..? If so, he shouldn't be, it was an accident and they happen. You can't prevent them even if you are very careful... "Hi..." Eli replies, pulling me out of my head. "What happened to Anna? She already disappeared?" I ask with clear concern in my voice."I sent her off with that Duke of Weaseltown- I mean Weselton" Eli quickly corrects himself and lets out a small laugh.

"He does look like a weasel to me" I giggle and Eli giggles slightly with me. "Anyway, I wish it could be like this forever.." I sigh as I remember the good times. "I do too, but it just can't!" Eli turns away from me, leaving me slightly sad as I remember why it can't."I... I remember what happened back then, Eli.." I say quietly as I look away, missing the look of shock on Eli's face. "Y-you aren't supposed to! H-how? I thought that troll erased your memories of my magic.." Eli still has a shocked look but it's mixed with confusion.

"I-I think it's because of m-my ice powers. I... I shouldn't have hidden it from you back then" I say as I look back up with tears threatening to spill, "I... I could have saved Anna! I could have saved our parents! If i-it weren't f-for me being such a c-coward they would still b-be here!" I say as best as I can without breaking down. Eli looks at me with concern, "Don't cry Y/n! You aren't a coward! You have never been a coward once! Just because they weren't saved at the time doesn't mean you were a coward!" Eli raises his voice but not too loud to draw attention.

"Y-you don't see me a-as a coward?" I ask him and he nods in reply. "I never have Y/n. Do you really have powers though? I thought I was the only one..?" Eli asks and looks down at the ground in thought. "I don't know how but yeah I have powers like you" I give him a slight smile but we get interrupted by Anna calling out for Eli, " Eli! I mean King."

 I wave as Anna waves then bows quickly. I see Hans with her and I look at her in surprise. What is she doing here with Hans? I thought she would be having fun instead of being with boys...
